Two years after the release ofAhsokaseason 1,Star Warshas revealed some key new details about the mysterious Captain Enoch. Debuting in the 2023Star Warsshow, Enoch was introduced as the right-hand man to Grand Admiral Thrawn. However, we’ve now just learned some additional new details about the captain and where his true loyalties lie.
Following the events of the Battle of Lothal, which concluded the animated seriesStar Wars Rebels,Grand Admiral Thrawn and his forces aboardThe Chimaerawere exiled to another galaxy for nearly a decade (along with Jedi Knight Ezra Bridger). Trapped on the world of Peridea, Thrawn and his men faced some sort of threat, as evidenced by the damage sustained to the Star Destroyer, as well as their cracked, broken, and mismatched armor. However, none of Thrawn’s Night Troopers were as unique or prominent as the new Captain Enoch, andStar Warshas just revealed some details regarding his backstory.

Star Wars Has Revealed Some Exciting New Info About Captain Enoch
Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Right-Hand Man
Wearing an Imperial helmet with a golden mask in place of a traditional stormtrooper face, Captain Enoch was shown inAhsokaassisting the Grand Admiral with tactical intelligence and leading Thrawn’s forces once Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren were discovered on the planet. However, Enoch himself didn’t get much action himself, nor did the series reveal much about his backstory. However,@CobaltGreen1138 on Twitter/Xrecently shared a new Topps card for Enoch, one featuring some potential new info about theenigmaticStarWarscaptain:
“Captain Enoch dutifully served Grand Admiral Thrawn in isolation on the far-off world of Peridea. Though Enoch may have once been a true Imperial, he now is loyal to Thrawn, if any life even remained in him. It is apparent that he and his legion of Night Troopers are all saturated with the majik of the Great Mothers.”

Admittedly, Topps has been known to sometimes embellish beyond what’s canonically accurate. However, the information provided is fascinating nonetheless. Not only is this exciting for Captain Enoch and his history, but also for what it might mean for Grand Admiral Thrawn and the future that’s coming inAhsokaseason 2.
Star Wars Confirms Captain Enoch Is Loyal To Thrawn (Not The Empire)
What Does That Mean About Thrawn Himself?
Firstly, the idea that Captain Enoch is loyal to Thrawn over the previous Empire is very exciting. It suggests that the captain’s loyalties lie only with the Grand Admiral, and not with anything larger, like the Imperial Remnant and its goal of restoring the previous Empire. Additionally, one has to wonder what this might mean about the loyalties of Grand Admiral Thrawn himself.
Captain Enoch being loyal to Thrawn rather than being “a true Imperial” also carries the potential implication that Thrawn himself may not be so dedicated to the restoration of the original Empire either. While theImperial Shadow Councilfully expects Thrawn to lead them to an Imperial restoration now that he’s back, the Chiss Grand Admiral was never fully loyal to the Empire to begin with, as evidenced by the various canonicalThrawnnovels by Timothy Zahn. Thrawn may be looking to create something entirely new, a superior Empire without the flaws of the previous version.

Is Ahsoka’s Captain Enoch Already Dead?
He May Have Been Resurrected By The Nightsisters
The lines questioning how much life Captain Enoch has within him are just as notable. It’s now confirmed that Enoch has been touched by the magicks of the Nightsisters along with the rest of Thrawn’s Night Troopers, many of whom were killed and resurrected while fighting Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra inAhsokaseason 1. As such, it does feel likely that Enoch perhaps died and was revived in the past.
That said, Enoch’s potential revival was perhaps a more in-depth resurrection compared to those under his command. After all, Enoch can speak and seems to have more of his faculties than the undead, zombie-like troopers inAhsokaseason 1, andTales of the Underworlddid confirm that theNightsisters can generate fuller resurrections as seen with Asajj Ventress. At any rate, it’s going to be fascinating to see more of Captain Enoch in the upcomingAhsokaseason 2.
