What This Means For Alien: Earth
The Xenomorph Will Be In A New Setting
The newAlien: Earthtrailer highlights the horror of the upcoming sci-fi series. It teases bloody violence and its characters in peril after the Weyland-Yutani ship crashes. It looks to have amix of the horror elements of the originalAlienand the action elements of James Cameron’sAliens. This approach was also used in thewell-receivedAlien: Romulus.
While the addition of other alien species has the opportunity to open up more storytelling possibilities, the most exciting element is a Xenomorph in a new setting.Traditionally, the creature has been stuck in a confined spaceand has the upper hand on unsuspecting victims.

Bringing the species to Earth adds a new element. How a Xenomorph will interact with its open environment will not only change how it hunts, but also how it is hunted. It also sets up an interesting mystery of why the species coming to Earth has never been mentioned in any other movie.
Our Take On The New Trailer
Alien: Earth Looks Like An Exciting Inclusion To The Franchise
As theAlienfranchise has never been on TV, and never come to Earth, the trailer looks like the series will break new ground. Although Xenomorph’s were featured on Earth in theAlien vs. Predatormovies, those exist in a separate universe.
TheAlienfranchise as a whole has had mixed results. Some are considered the greatest movies of all time, while others are shockingly misguided. WithAlien: Romulus, the series was able to get back on track, and it also helped build anticipation for the new show. IfAlien: Earthcan mix classic elements while adding to the lore, it should be a success.
