Eminem and Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore 2

WithHappy Gilmore’s status as a universally beloved and iconic sports classic, Sandler was able to put together one of the most impressive collections of cameos that have ever been assembled. The movie is positively loaded with real-world golfers, famous athletes, actors, and Sandler’s typical go-to cameos, making it nearly impossible not to miss one or two.

Eminem

The All-Time Great Plays The Son Of Happy’s Heckler

One of the most famous segments of the original Happy Gilmore sees Happy heckled mercilessly by a spectator paid by Shooter McGavin to throw Happy off his game. Played by the late Joe Flaherty (Freaks and Geeks) the iconic insult of “Jackass!” is synonymous with golf distractions.

While Joe Flahery passed away in 2024, his presence is still felt in the sequel. His son, who appears to once again distract Happy during the movie’s final big competition, is portrayed by rapper/actor Eminem in a hilarious segment that sees Happy’s sons throw him into an alligator-infested pond.

Travis Kelce

Although he’s only in the movie for one scene, Travis Kelce flexes his comedy chops as the head waiter of the facility where golf’s tour champions (past and present) assemble to discuss how to fight the upstart Maxi Golf league led by Benny Safdie’s Frank Manatee. Kelce’s waiter is a suck-up to the golfer clientele, concerned at all times with not looking bad in front of them.

Happy Gilmore 2is the first feature film that Kelce has acted in, although he has appeared in two TV shows already, including a multi-episode arc in the FX mystery-horror showGrotesqueriein 2024. With his NFL career winding down, Kelce definitely could begin to make more appearances in movies and TV, as he received praise from Adam Sandler for his work on set.

Adam Sandler Regulars In Happy Gilmore 2

Sandler Includes Some Actors In All His Movies, And More Recently His Family Too

Adam Sandler famously includes some actors in many of his Happy Madison Productions movies, andHappy Gilmore 2is certainly no exception. Steve Buscemi appears as the Gilmores' odd neighbor Pat, Blake Clark shows Happy how to chip out of the sand (sort of) on the beach during a training montage, and Jonathan Loughran plays the orderly who helps Shooter escape from the mental hospital.

Elsewhere, Rob Schneider’s unnamed “you’re able to do it” cross-over character appears in Happy’s new-age “Happy Place” as a cowboy on a tricycle, while Nick Swardson appears as a golfer from the 1950s whose unique body anomaly acts as the foundation for Maxi Golf’s surgery policy for better drives. Allen Covert also appears in an uncredited role.

Adam Sandler and his two daughters Sadie and Sunny mirrored their real-life roles as a father and two daughters in the acclaimed 2023 coming-of-age dramedyYou Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah.

More recently, Sandler has taken to including his wife and daughters in his movies. While Sandler’s wife appears only briefly as his daughter Vienna’s ballet coach, his daughters Sunny and Sadie have fairly large roles in the movie.

Sunny plays Happy’s daughter Vienna, whose dreams of professional ballet are what drive Happy back to golf in the first place (so he can pay for the Parisian ballet school). His older daughter Sadie plays a fellow member of the alcoholic support group run by Ben Stiller’s Hal L. who winds up being the one who actually helps Happy quit drinking.

The Movie Is Loaded With The Best Real-World Golfers Of The Past And Present

By the events ofHappy Gilmore 2, Happy has had a long and storied golf career, so naturally his return to the professional tour would involve appearances from today’s stars for the sake of realism. The early scene featuring Travis Kelce’s waiter also features some of the biggest names from the history of golf, including Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, and Lee Trevino.

Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIroy, Brooks Koepka, and the world’s top golfer Scottie Scheffler have the largest roles, as they team with Happy in a five-on-five format inHappy Gilmore 2’s climax. Other Athletes & Sports Media Cameos In Happy Gilmore 2

The Movie Isn’t Just Limited To Including Famous Golfers

Golfers certainly aren’t the only famous sports personalities that appear inHappy Gilmore 2. The popularity of the original movie likely yielded a waiting list for appearances in the long-awaited sequel, and Sandler managed to get some truly great cameos from other athletes and broadcasters.

Dan Patrick is a frequent Adam Sandler collaborator, and he appears as a sportscaster breaking down Happy Gilmore’s legal troubles. Verne Lundquist, who provided the actual golf play-by-play for the first movie, returns to do the same for the sequel, and Stephen A. Smith loudly opines about Gilmore’s transgressions on TV as well. Jim Gray and Chris Berman also have credits.

As far as athletes are concerned, perhaps the funniest is Boban Marjanovic’s appearance as the son of Mr. Larson, Happy’s former boss and enemy-turned-advocate from the first movie played by Richard Kiel. Reggie Bush and Becky Lynch also have key appearances as two of the Maxi Golf team members that Happy golfs against in the movie’s final showdown.
