WhileBattlefield 6sees the franchise’s single-player campaign return and its second attempt at a battle royale, its beloved, large-scale multiplayer is the clear draw.Battlefield 6previewsshow that the game is something of a return to form, following up onBattlefield 3and4specifically, but broadly leaning into the elements that made the series so famous in the first place, including a globe-trotting selection of maps and numerous modes to play on them.
The cornerstone of theBattlefieldexperience has come to be known as All-Out Warfare, the series' classic, 64-player game modes. But the series has long featured smaller game types, often to give players options that require a lower time investment.Battlefield 6is no different, hoping to cater to all varieties of FPS fans.Battlefield 6is launching with nine maps, and just as many game modes.

Every Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Map Confirmed For Launch

At launch on October 10,Battlefield 6will feature nine full-size maps. This means the All-Out Warfare game modes can be played on each one, which are then segmented into what Battlefield Studios calls Combat Zones for the smaller game types. Here’s a breakdown of each confirmed map and what we know about them.
Dense urban map set in Cairo, Egypt

Land vehicles
Close-quarters map set in the winding city streets of Gibraltar

Set in a small, mountain village in Tajikistan
Land and air vehicles

Empire State
Nestled under the Brooklyn Bridge between the Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights neighborhoods
Infantry only

Remake of thebelovedBattlefield 3map, set in an Iranian oil field
Set in Gibraltar’s Old Town, centered around a fountain square

New Sobek City
Takes place in both desert dunes and an under-construction neighborhood in Cairo’s suburbs
Battlefield 6’s largest map set in a “sprawling warzone”

“Every type of vehicle”
Manhattan Bridge
Located below the Manhattan Bridge, appears to also be set in Dumbo
Mirak Valley’s specifics (and the details on each map) come fromEA’s website. It’s a bit unclear whether “every type of vehicle” denotes a difference from the other maps that feature both land and air vehicles.Battlefield 6’s reveal trailershows an amphibious landing, but there isn’t any indication that such watercraft are in the multiplayer.

Every Multiplayer Game Mode Confirmed For Battlefield 6 At Launch
All-Out Warfare & More
All nine ofBattlefield 6’s launch maps appear to be compatible with every multiplayer game mode. First, and arguably most important, arethe 64-player All-Out Warfare modes, of which there are three:
The above game modes take advantage of entire maps.Battlefield 6’s remaining multiplayer game modes are designed for smaller team sizes, and thus utilize distinct Combat Zones. This is the phrase Battlefield Labs is using to refer to individual areas of a map, often centered around certain sets of Conquest objectives, thoughwhere objects are placed and how destruction is used can differ. So far, six smaller game modes have been confirmed forBF6, either from EA’s website or from previews:

There are also two multiplayer segments ofBattlefield 6that feel too large to be considered among the regular roster of game modes: Portal and the teasedbattle royale mode. Portal is making itsreturn fromBattlefield 2042, but will see significant upgrades in the form of greater customization tools. It is a map editor and custom game creation suite, akin toHalo’s Forge. Objects can be placed throughout the map and NPC scripting is even possible.
Very little is known about the battle royale mode, aside from the broad strokes of the genre and a few details gleaned by data miners. It was officially teased at theBF6multiplayer reveal, and appears to use a wall of fire, just likeBattlefield 5’s Firestorm BR, to push players into an ever-shrinking playable area.
While all of this is confirmed forBattlefield 6’s launch, the game is expected to grow after release. As a live-service venture,BF6will get new maps and game modes each in-game season, alongside weapons and other additions – presumably vehicles and cosmetics. In many ways,Battlefield 6is a return to the series' roots, but it will still offer an ambitious number of gameplay avenues.
