6Worms 2

Following on from the success of the original Worms title in 1995,Worms 2received just as much praise for the artillery genre when Team17 developed and published it in 1998. It received plenty of improvements since the original title such as the introduction of a map editor that had only been seen in the director’s cut of the original title and plenty more weapons.

Besides this,Wormsalso received an entirely new art style which did change once again later in the series though this is by far one of its most noticeable changes from the original.

5Super Magbot

Imagine a platformer where the player isunable to jump, well that is exactly what Team17 inspired to create when they developedSuper Magbot. Through the power of magnets players can hop between the surfaces which can make for some pretty mind-boggling moments on how to scale across certain levels. This alongside the incredible classic gaming soundtrack makesSuper Magbotan addictive experience.

4Worms 3D

An iconic turning point in theWormsfranchise was its transformation from a 2D title to that of 3D, this change saw the use of different maps that required players to change their transform to better succeed in battles.

To match this new 3D direction the worms themselves also needed a make-over to better fit the design of the rest of the game though many of the key features of the franchise remained the same. However, players could finally design their own teams allowing another layer of personalization to the battlefield.

Unlikeother racing titlesdue to the cars being radio-controlled the player’s car isn’t going to last forever, the longer they drive around the battery will begin to drain until the car is drastically slowed; out of the five game modes available many of these take this mechanic into thought which makes for some interesting gameplay moments.

2Overcooked! 2

Out of all available titles even considering those that are 3D, players still considerthe classic 2D versionof the turn-based title to be the best.

WithWorms Armageddonreleasing in 1999 It also benefited from the new art style brought along byWorms 2. It also gave players with plenty of new modes to enjoy during the multiplayer of the game such as enabling handicaps or teaming up with fellow worms.
