Big Brother 27host Julie Chen Moonves has revealed that a fan-favorite twist is returning for the show’s milestone 25th year.

In aBig BrotherInstagram reel,Julie revealed that the BB AI Arena, which made its debut inBig Brother 26, will return for season 27. In the BB AI Arena twist, three houseguests were nominated for eviction instead of two, and they had to battle it out during the live eviction episode for the chance for one of them to take themselves off of the chopping block at the very last moment.

After callingBig Brother 27 “the biggest season yet,“walking fans throughthe house, which has been transformed into Hotel Mystère, and teasing the 16 new houseguests and Mystery Player, Julie made the big announcement.

Julie stated,“This group of houseguests won’t have a clue what we’re throwing at them. Last year’s BB AI Arena was so successful, we are bringing it back. You’ll never know who’s going home becausehouseguests will have a last-minute chance to take themselves off the block with the BB Blockbuster.”

What Return Of AI Arena Means For Big Brother 27

The AI Arena Completely Changed The Game

DuringBig Brother 26,the AI Arena turned the game on its head, making it impossible to backdoor houseguestsbecause they’d always have a chance to save themselves at the last minute. In addition, it made the live evictions much more unpredictable because the houseguests didn’t know who the final two nominees were until literally minutes before the vote.

Inprevious seasons ofBig Brother, the first few evictions were predictable and boring becausethe houseguests usually voted someone out unanimously to avoid putting themselves in the spotlight. However, the AI Arena made it much harder for them to do that, and therefore kept fans on the edges of their seats every Thursday night.

Also, the live competitions were thrilling to watch. ManyBig Brotherfans watch the live feeds and know the results of competitions before they air on CBS, but the AI Arena happened in real time, which made for some jaw-dropping moments.

Our Take On Big Brother Bringing Back AI Arena

The AI Arena Should Be Permanent

I’m so happy to hear that the AI Arena, which is now being rebranded as the BB Blockbuster, is returning forBig Brother 27.It breathed new life into the series after 25 seasons, and it challenged the houseguestsin unprecedented ways.

Having theBig Brothercontestants compete at the last minute before the live vote and eviction proved who really had what it took to win the game. I believe thatit should be a permanent fixture onBig Brother.

I can’t wait for theBig Brother 27premiere. From the intriguing Hotel Mystère to the unique new houseguests to the Mystery Player, there’s so much to look forward to. With the return of the AI Arena, now more than ever, theBig Brotherhouseguests and fans should remember to"expect the unexpected.”

Big Brotherseason 27 premieres Thursday, July 10 at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
