A decade ago,Bleachwas part of Shonen’s Big Three, making it one of the most successful manga and anime series of all time. Fans enjoyBleachbecause of its combat and unique characters, and several of these characters have their own families. Certain families are not that impressive, but there are other families that stand out because several of their members are strong individuals.

By design, Hollows should not have families in the traditional sense, but some do, and for the most part, the Quincy take pride in their respective lineages. Many ofBleach’s strongest families live in Soul Society, and several of their members have held high-ranking positions within the Gotei 13. A few of these Soul Reaper families have managed to produce multiple Captains.
8The Omaeda Family Is A Minor Aristocratic Family In Soul Society
Its Members Are Affiliated With The Stealth Force
The Omaeda family is one of several minor noble houses that live within the Soul Society. Marechiyo Omaeda is the most prominent member of the family, but his father Marenoshin is the family’s current leader. They are a wealthy family, and they are affiliated with the Stealth Force - which deals in covert ops and assassinations.
Marechiyo is the currentLieutenant of the 2nd Division, and he is the commander of the Stealth Force’s Patrol Corps. His father also served in the Stealth Force, and he was the 2nd Division’s Lieutenant when Yoruichi was the Captain over a century ago. Given their service record, the Omaeda family is filled with Shunpo specialists.
7The Kotetsu Family Has Produced Strong Women
Isane Kotetsu and her younger sister Kiyone both debuted duringthe Soul Society Arc, and at the time, they served in different divisions. Kiyone was the co-3rd seat of the 13th Division when Jushiro Ukitake was the Captain, and Isane was the Lieutenant of the 4th Division. Following the Thousand-Year Blood War, Isane becomes the 4th Division’s new Captain, and Kiyone becomes her Lieutenant.

The Kotetsu family is not a noble house, but it has produced two highly skilled female Soul Reapers. Kiyone excels in healing Kido, and Isane is even more skilled in this regard. Isane also possesses immense spiritual power, and she can cast several high-level Kido spells in rapid succession.
6The Granz Family Served Aizens Arrancar Army
Produced An Espada and Fraccion
When Aizen escaped to Hueco Hundo, he used the Hogyoku to create an army of Arrancars - which are all high-level Hollows that gained Soul Reaper characteristics. Szayelaporro Granz was the 8th Espada, making him one ofthe strongest Hollows inBleach,and his older brother Yylfordt was one of Grimmjow’s Fraccion.
Yylfordt could overpower Renji when he was using just 20% of his power, and he transformed into a bull-like Hollow when he released his Zanpakuto. Szayelaporro was a mad scientist, and he was able to severely injure both Uryu and Renji once he revealed his Resurreccion. Szayelaporro has the power to resurrect himself, and he was able to fight Captain Kurotsuchi pretty evenly.
5The Shiba Clan Was Once A Major Noble House
Has Produced Several High-Ranking Soul Reapers
Soul Society originally had five Great Noble Houses, and the Shiba Clan was one of them. They specialize in fireworks, but they lost their status shortly after the death ofKaien Shiba, who was considered the future of the clan. Kaien was the Lieutenant of Squad 13, and he died after a Hollow took control of his body.
His younger sister Kukaku is now the head of the family, and she can use very powerful Kido. Her younger brother Ganju is a good swordsman, and he can use Earth Magic. Isshin Shiba is their uncle and Ichigo’s father, and he was the Captain of the 10th Division before Toshiro.
4The Ishida Family Produced Many Pure Quincy
A Member Was Chosen To Be The Next Quincy King
The Ishida family owns Karakura General Hospital, and they are a very old Quincy family. For centuries, the Ishida family believed in purity to the point that their children were only allowed to marry other pure-blooded Quincy. This changed when Uryu Ishida was born because his mother was only part Quincy

Ironically, Uryu is now arguablythe strongest Quincyalive, as he is capable of using many high-level techniques. Yhwach was the Quincy King, and when he saw Uryu’s potential, he named him his successor. His father Ryuken is a master archer and Reishi manipulator. He can use every high-level Quincy technique because he inherited the power from his father, Soken.
3The Shihoin Clan Is Noble Family As Old As The Soul Reapers
It Has Produced Some Of the Fastest & Strongest Captains In History
The Shihoin Clan is one of Soul Society’s four Great Noble Houses, and the family is arguably older than the Gotei 13. The head of the clan is traditionally the head of the Stealth Force, and they are the caretakers of the divine Treasure Tool and War Tool.
Chika Shihoin was part ofthe original Gotei 13 Captains- who are considered the strongest Captains in history. He was incredibly fast and powerful, and during the first Quincy war, he effortlessly killed dozens of Quincies with his feet. Yoruichi is his descendant, and like him, she was the Captain of the 2nd Division. She is a true Shunpo master, to the point she is called the “Flash Goddess.”
2The Kuchiki Clan Is One Of The 4 Noble Families
It Produced Several Notable Soul Reaper Captains
The Kuchiki Clan is the most prominent of the four Great Noble Houses, and they are charged with recording and protecting Soul Society’s history. The clan has produced several powerful Soul Reapers, including Byakuya - who is the current head of the clan and the Captain of the 6th Division. He is a Shunpo and Kido master, and he possesses one ofthe strongest Bankai.

Rukia is his sister-in-law/adopted sister, and she becomes the next Captain of the 13th Division. Ginrei was Byakuya’s grandfather, and he was the previous Captain of the 6th Division. Sojun is Byakuya’s father, and he served as Ginrei’s Lieutenant.
1The Soul King Family Are Basically Gods
They Have The Power To Destroy Reality
The Soul King is basically God, and his very existence is tied to Hueco Mundo, Soul Society, and the Human World. If he were to die, the worlds would all collapse into each other, and the end result would theoretically be a world where no one would ever fear death. His heart became Gerard Valkyrie, and his arms became Pernida and Mimihagi.
His biological son is Yhwach - the original Quincy. They are both able to see into the future, and they both possess immeasurable spiritual power. Yhwach’s power allows him to alter the future, but the Soul King can neutralize it.
