Our Take: The Crossover Is Neat, But There Are A Lot Of Microtransactions
The Response To This Crossover Is Likely Going To Be Mixed
ThisDiablo 4crossover withBerserkis neat, for sure, and it’s nice to see a crossover with a manga series instead of a much larger multimedia IP. However,Diablo 4has been criticized for its full-price entry point and its heavy implementation of microtransactions, evenbefore the game launched. The latest expansion,Vessels of Hatred, was also widely criticized for its high price, despitethe expansion’s story being generally well-received.
Nonetheless, even with stiff competition from other ARPGs, likePath of Exile 2,Diablo 4has seen continued success since its launch. Blizzard recently confirmed in its2025 roadmap forDiablo 4that there will not be another major expansion until 2026, so continued seasonal content and big crossovers like this one will have to tide fans over until the game gets its next large update.
