Several months back, a large batch of content leaked forCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warthat included multiplayer maps and weapons. With a majority of this content coming toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, fans have just been waiting for the Scythe to debut, and now they can get their hands on it.

The Scythe is the latest of several melee weapons that are available inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and it will likely be the last one added to the lineup. In addition to the Scythe, gamers can use aMace, an Axe, a Shovel, and a Machete. Like with other post-launch weapon additions, there are a few ways that this melee weapon can be unlocked, with the quickest way to access the weapon being through the purchase of a cosmetic bundle.

The bundle in question is called Tracer Pack: Death’s Approach and costs players 2,000 COD Points to unlock. The star of the show is undoubtedly the Scythe blueprint called Blood Bunny, and like its name suggests it features a bunny sticker on its handle and a blood-covered blade. Two weapon blueprints are included for the Pelington 703 Sniper Rifle and the AK-74u SMG, with a hilarious finishing move involving an evil rabbit also included. A watch, emblem, calling card, and gesture included, with the final three items featuring theMister Peeks from Zombies.

For those who do not want to spend any COD Points to unlock this bundle and the Scythe, there are two unlock challenges available to work on. The first is for multiplayer, and it tasks players with getting two kills with eitherNinjaor Dead Silence across 15 different matches. Given the popularity of the Ninja perk, this should not be too difficult, though it is important to keep in mind that gamers must complete the match for their two kills to be registered for the challenge.

For those that prefer Zombies over multiplayer, or simply want a quicker challenge to complete, heading into a match of Zombies with a melee weapon equipped would be wise. If players can get 200 melee weapon kills while insta-kill is active, they will unlock the Scythe. Dubbed the Soul Harvester whenPack-A-Punched, the weapon’s quick and wide swings make it a lot of fun to use against the undead. It also has an entertaining weapon inspection for those that like to show off.

WithTreyarch hard at work onCall of Duty2024, this will likely be the last major addition toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Considering that the game improved significantly through its post-launch updates, players have plenty of content to use the Scythe in.
