She’s been biding her time, butCatwomanis finally coming to the Absolute Universe, and she’s got a look that is certainly the cat’s pajamas. Over the last year, fans have gotten hints ofAbsolute Batman’stake on Selina Kyle, and now they’re getting their best look at her and the intriguing new costume she’s bringing.
This October is the first anniversaryfor DC’s Absolute lineand the publisher has given fans a sneak peek of what its fan-favorite books have in store. This fall sees the publication of Absolute Batman #13 by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta. WhileBatman’s conflict with Banereaches its epic conclusion, an old friend of Bruce’s finally returns to Gotham.
The solicited cover reveals DC’s Absolute Catwoman. Much like the Prime Selina, she wears a sleek, all-black suit, but the Absolute anti-hero has a few innovative touches.Catwoman’s mask is a reflective dome, she wears gloves with claw-like spikes, paw-like boots and, most curiously, a segmented tail that looks quite similar to the hooks of Absolute Batman’s cape.

And Yes, Her Costume is Purr-Fect for This Universe
The Absolute Universe is different from the Prime DC Universe, and for Absolute Batman, one of the biggest differences is that he’s actually lifelong friends with many of his Prime counterpart’s enemies. Even as a child, Bruce was closest with Selina, with the two even developing romantic feelings for one another.
Selina hasn’t been seen much inAbsolute Batmanapart from flashbacks, but now she’s back and active as Catwoman. Judging by her costume, she’s got a lot of different toys in this universe (not unlike this world’s Dark Knight). It’ll be interesting to seewhat brings Absolute Catwoman back to Gothamand where things go for Absolute Batman from here.

Despite the surface-level differences of the Absolute heroes, they’re still very much like their Prime Universe counterparts. Selina may love Bruce just as much as her doppelganger does, but she hasn’t always let her feelings get in the way when there’s something else she’s eyeing. She could be returning for Batman, butCatwoman may want something else.
What is known is that Catwoman has one of the best costumes she’s had in a long time. It will be interesting to see what her new costume can do and how it will aid her in this dangerous new world. Hopefully,Catwomanwon’t have her claws out the next time she runs into Batman.
