Jack Thompson talking to Daniel Sousa in Agent Carter.

Told and assumed are two completely different things. Jack would have been back. I always envisioned, if there were a season 3, that Jack would have been back and he would be barking orders from the hospital bed, not able to get out, picking on Souza, that he doesn’t know how to do his job, even though I’m not doing a damn thing from bed.

And then, he actually earns a rite of passage at the end of the season. You know, he and Peggy are up against the wall, and you hear gunfire, and it’s Jack in his hospital gown, ‘I knew you needed me.’ That’s what I envisioned. That’s my Jack goodbye.

Murray’s comments reveal that he would be very open to returning for another season ofAgent Carter, and thathe foresees Jack having one last redemption arcafter changing his ways throughout the show. Murray clearly wants full closure for Jack, and this does feel like a conclusion that would fit well with his character.

Our Take On Jack Thompson’s Agent Carter Fate

Agent Carterwas one of the earliest andbest Marvel shows, and it was cancelled prematurely, leaving many plot points without conclusion.Jack’s fate was left unclear after he was shot in the finale episode, but if the show did return for a third season, he would likely have returned to close out his character arc.

WhileAgent Cartermight have been short-lived, it played a key role in expanding the MCU and fleshing out the character of Peggy Carter in the process. And while there are seemingly no plans to revive the show, if it was to return, there are plenty of storylines that could be utilized, including Jack’s fate.
