The Unsung Heroes

The Kakushi ismostly made of memberswho were unable to pass the final selection exam to become a Demon Slayer or members who were not strong enough to use a sword and fight in battles but still wants a part to play in defeating demons. The reason why the Kakushi were responsible in cleaning up battlefields is because the public was not entirely aware of demons and civilians finding dead bodies could stir up agitation among them. The Kakushi uniforms are also made in a way that protects their identity with only their eyes being visible. Although the Kakushi did not possess swordsmanship skills, they possessed other skills such as immense strength and stealth abilities to avoid detection when observing demon slayers. They also possess skills such as a strong sense of navigation and tracking to keep up with Demon Slayers and also remember hidden locations such as the Swordsmith Village. Some Kakushi also work asattendants at the Butterfly Mansion.

The Kakushi also has their own ranking system, but unfortunately they cannot be graded the same way a Demon Slayer is as they do not kill demons. Kakushis also have immense respect towards the Hashiras. During the Swordsmith Village Arc is when a certain Kakushi was highlighted and the character development began for the Kakushi member, Goto. When Goto realizes Tanjiro is awake from his coma, he is furious with Kanao for not informing anyone, by this it is understood that the Kakushi is also caring and extremely sensitive when caring for the injured while being on high alert. Goto was also the Kakushi member who found, Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke passed out after theEntertainment District Arcand made sure they reached the Butterfly Mansion safely, so they could recover.

Origin And Facts

The number of Kakushis recruited to the Demon Slayer Corps is not known since the Kakushis were formed during the Sengoku period and are the only members who know where the residence of the Corp leader is and also various secret locations such as the Swordsmith Village. Another interesting fact about the Kakushi is that, similar to how the Demon Slayers have the kanji for exterminator or destroyer of demons on the back of their uniforms, the Kakushi also has a Kanji of the brigade they are from on the back of theiruniforms as eachKakushi has their own role to play when it comes to their tasks.

It is also seen in the manga that the Kaushi also become part of the fight against Muzan using all their will and determination to fight even without having top-notch fighting skills, supporting the Demon Slayers when possible. In retrospect, the Kakushi plays a vital role in regard to the success of the Demon Slayers effectively defeating demons and looking after the things that most people miss. While the Demon Slayers are out hunting and killing demons, the Kakushi are always working to ensure that theDemon Slayers are lookedafter and are aware of their missions.
