With the game hitting shelves very soon, theDestroy All Humans!remakehas been delivering a lot of new trailers, extended clips of gameplay, andeven a demo for fans to try out for themselves. Overall, it seems as though the remake of the seminal PlayStation 2 classic will completely overhaul the game in all the right ways, taking what made it so special and adding smoother combat, significantly enhanced visuals, and much more.

There’s no better way to spot these changes than in the game’s recently released Santa Modesta trailer, which seesDestroy All Humans!protagonist Crypto taking on a fictional, picturesque town in Southern California. The footage highlights Crypto laying waste to the sunny vacation spot, probing locals, blowing up tanks, and, of course, jumping into his flying saucer to decimate the surrounding area.

The Santa Modesta trailer begins with the destructive alien landing on sunset drenched beach, moving up into the town where he seemingly body snatches a citizen and uses them to spy on local law enforcement. From here, the trailer cuts to several different glimpses of Crypto’s destructive rampage, brought on by the psychopathic alien telling players to not “get mad, get sadistic.” Blowing up cars, probing policemen, going head to head with tanks, and firing what appears to be some sort of powerful area of attack grenade, it’s apparent thatplayers will be able to cause all manner of destructionin this fairly expansive level.

Crypto then hops into his flying saucer to inflict more chaos, burning down numerous houses and shops with his lethal death ray. He also utilizes a new weapon not yet shown in the game’s various trailers, firing a big green explosive that, upon detonating, rips several nearby buildings to shreds. It seems the game’s going to offer a wealth of fun tools to cause carnage withwhen it launches late next month.

Destroy All Humans!is far from the first remake or remaster to land in 2020, however.Final Fantasy 7 RemakeandResident Evil 3launched earlier this year to extreme acclaim, whileSpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for BikiniBottom Rehydratedhas been popular with fans as well. Better yet, following the release ofDestroy All Humans!,Mafiawill also be seeing a dramatic remakewith new visuals, overhauled gameplay, and more. It seems remakes are becoming something of a hot trend in modern video games and fans couldn’t be happier.

Destroy All Humans!will be available July 28 for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
