Out of all the characters that have been introduced duringDragon Ball’s more than 4 decades of publication, Yamcha could be considered among the weakest. The man is undoubtedly several times stronger than a regular human, and his bravery knows no bounds. There are even more than a handful ofmoments that prove Yamcha is a true badass, but that cannot be used as an argument against his inherent weaknesses and shortcomings as a human.
Yet, according to an interview given by the late Akira Toriyama before the release of theBattle of the Godsfilm, Yamcha could become the last line of defense against Beerus. The warrior might not be able to defeatthe strongest God of Destructionin battle, but he possesses other skills that could calm down the deity during his usual tantrums.

Yamcha Is a Talented Chef
He Is Officially the Best Cook in the Cast
When Beerus was first introduced to theDragon Ballfranchise, he appeared to be a ruthless and prideful deity. His powers vastly outmatched any other creature in Universe 7, with the only exception being his attending Angel, Whiss. As such, anything the God of Destruction desired, he would get, immediately ending the life of any person, species, or planet that refused to serve him. The only reason his anger did not destroy Earth wasbecause of Beerus’ love for good food, which is abundant on Goku’s home planet.
After his brief battle with Goku, the deity became a regular visitor, always happy to delight in the dishes and desserts given to him by Bulma and her chefs. As far asthe members of the powerful Z Fightersand audiences are aware, food is the only weakness of the mighty deity of destruction. Accordingly, in 2013, shortly before the release of theBattle of the Godsmovie, Toriyama gave an interesting interview in the special volumeDragon Ball Chozensu1. One of the questions he answered revolved aroundwho among the cast was the best cook.

Surprisingly, Yamcha was the only member of the core team mentioned by Toriyama, implying that his cooking skills are far above those of his friends. It might seem like a useless ability to possess, seeing asthe strongest villains in the franchisewill not stop a battle to ask Goku’s first rival to cook them a meal. Nonetheless, this implies that Yamcha does have a way to defuse any issues that might arise when Beerus becomes enraged. If he had access to a kitchen, Yamcha could keep Beerus happy with his meals.
Beerus Has Been Proven To Be Persuaded by Food
The God Thinks With His Stomach First
Although the idea of Yamcha enjoying some leverage over Beerus thanks to his cooking skills might sound far-fetched, theDragon Ballfranchise has proven how much food influences the deity. During his first appearance, he was stopped from his desire to destroy the Earth only because he was offered food on several occasions. Furthermore, it was the fact that Buu ate the last pudding that caused the god to become enraged and forced Vegeta and his allies to fight him.
Beerus could find it favorable to listen and comply with Yamcha’s desires, hoping to eat more of his cooking.

TheSuper Herofilm, one of the bestDragon Ballmovies, is also a great example, as Cheelai and Lemo were only allowed to stay on Beerus’ planet because they were able to cook him delicious food. If Yamcha were to ever use his skills to prepare a delectable meal for the deity, he could become a person of interest. Beerus could find it favorable to listen and comply with Yamcha’s desires, hoping to eat more of his cooking.
Dragon Ball’s Comedy Could Make This True
The Series Is Never Afraid To Make Jokes
Even though theDragon Ballanime series is known for having some of the best fights in the industry,it has always been a hilarious comedy at heart. From the very beginning of the franchise, the series has been unashamedly unserious, one of the reasons why many fans consider it cool. As such, imagining Beerus falling victim to the Z fighter’s cooking is not outside the realm of possibility. Nonetheless, if Yamcha were to ever become a chef for the God of Destruction, it more than likely would only be as a one-time joke, as the strongest human is a warrior at heart.
