A potentially very powerful glitch has been discovered inElden Ring Nightreign, letting players duplicate items they’ve found during an expedition.FromSoftware’s cooperative rogueliterelies heavily on RNG to give players varying experiences between runs in what is ultimately a rather repetitive gameplay loop, but this new glitch could be the difference between winning and losing against a Nightlord.
A glitch has been discovered that allows a full team to duplicate items, according toKotaku.It involves manipulating the game’s servers to essentially let two players pick up the same item simultaneously, but because of howNightreignmultiplayer lobbies are formed, the host cannot perform the glitch. You therefore need a full stack and a party chat, sinceNightreigndoesn’t support in-game voice chat. While the host isn’t able to duplicate items themselves, they can pick up the duplicated items created by their teammates.
How To Use The Nightreign Duplication Glitch

TheElden Ring Nightreignduplication glitch is rather straightforward;the only requirement is that the two non-host players pick up an item at the same time. Any item can be dropped from a player’s inventory, then it’s generally recommended that the host perform a countdown for the other two. If done correctly, the targeted item will appear in both players' inventories, and the duplicated item can then be dropped again and picked up by anyone.
This seems to be an exploit of howNightreignkeeps track of items during a game session. Picking up an item has to be registered by the host’s session, so if two players try to pick up an item simultaneously, there isn’t time for the game to deny the second attempt. While not strictly impossible,this would be incredibly difficult to pull off with random teammates.

Being able to duplicate any item you come across in an expedition upsets the delicate balance ofNightreign, soit’s likely going to be patched out of the game rather quickly. It’s conceivably a very powerful strategy for teams that run multiple people playing the same Nightfarer. All you’d need to do is find just one of thebest weaponsfor that character, and you’d be able to equip everyone who is playing them.
Especially since each Nightlord has a specific weakness, you could circumvent a lot of the RNG that makes runs difficult by the team collectively finding a single item that exploits said weakness. It also breaks the game’s Rune economy. Since Starlight Shards are exceedingly helpful in letting Recluse castsorceries inNightreign, having just one could result in filling her inventory with them. The duplication glitch will probably be the most helpful prior to the final boss, since you have unlimited time in the Spirit Shelter, but with good coordination, it could be put to good use throughoutElden Ring Nightreignbefore it’s inevitably removed from the game.
