After teasing the iconic location in season 1’s ending, the firstFalloutseason 2 image has confirmed a journey to New Vegas. Created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, the Prime Video series is an adaptation of Bethesda’s video game franchise, putting players in the shoes of different characters exploring a post-apocalyptic America now known as The Wasteland.

Season 1 of the series focused on bright-eyed Vault Dweller Lucy as she headed out in search of her kidnapped father in the Los Angeles area, which subsequently put her in conflict with a legendary Ghoul bounty hunter and an aspiringBrotherhood of Steel squire. Though she would eventually find her father, Lucy also learned he and Vault-Tec were behind the Great War that wiped out the world.

Led by Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins and Aaron Moten, season 1 became an instant hit for Prime Video, garnering major acclaim from critics and becoming the streamer’s second-most-watched title in its history. In addition to being renewed for season 2 the same month of its release,Fallouthas also already been renewedfor season 3.

A few months after filming wrapped on the next chapter of the show, the first poster forFalloutseason 2 has been released byIGN. The key art offers a tease of Lucy, Maximus and The Ghoul’s return as they venture across the Wasteland to find her father in New Vegas, with the sign for the city, and the city itself, seen in the background. The release also came with the announcement of season 2 releasing in December. Check out the poster below:

What The Poster Means For Fallout Season 2

It’s certainly been no secret thatseason 2 would take the series to the iconic game location of New Vegas. TheFalloutseason 1 endingmemorably saw Kyle MacLachlan’s Hank flee from his daughter to the city, while Purnell’s Lucy accepted the offer from Goggins' Ghoul to travel with him and Dogmeat to find Hank and the other Vault-Tec leaders.

While the poster still has yet to put audiences directly in the heart of the city, it does at least make it abundantly clearFalloutseason 2 will not shy away fromits New Vegas setting. However, given the mission Lucy and The Ghoul are currently on, it is still possible the show won’t jump right to the city in its premiere.

Another likely reason as to why New Vegas might be saved for a few episodes intoFalloutseason 2 is the poster showing Moten’s Maximus with the rest of the group. He was last seen being re-embraced by The Brotherhood and promoted to a Knight, so even while the feelings he has for Lucy will drive his efforts to reunite, it seems likely he’ll want to embrace his stardom for a short while.

Our Take On The Fallout Season 2 Poster

With how successful Wagner, Robertson-Dworet and Jonathan Nolan were in translating the world of the games to the screen in season 2,Falloutseason 2 is certainly one of my most-anticipated show returns, and its New Vegas setting is a big reason why. It being a middle ground for varying factions vying for power simultaneously led to some great morality debates and hilarious side quests.

Falloutseason 2’s New Vegas locale is also sure to bring with it a new range of bizarre characters. In addition to expanding onRafi Silver’s Mr. House from season 1, Macaulay Culkin is set to play a crazed scientist in the next season, somewhat filling the void for Michael Emerson’s Wilzig. With the rest of the new cast still under wraps, New Vegas' population is bound to be a treat.
