The first trailer forFalloutseason 2 has been released. The Prime Video series is set in the nuclear Wasteland of the Bethesda video game franchise, largely centering on Ella Purnell’s Lucy, a Vault Dweller in search of her kidnapped father. Falloutseason 2, which was greenlit just a week after season 1’s premiere, will pick up shortly after the latter’s ending, in which Lucy and Walton Goggins' The Ghoul set out in search of her father. This puts them on the path to New Vegas, the largely maintained remnants of the Nevada gambling town operated by RobCo Industries CEO Robert Edwin House.

With the show already off to an acclaimed start, it was also revealed thatFallouthad been renewed for season 3 at Prime Video, though no production or release window was set. What The Trailer Means For Fallout Season 2
While it’s always been known that it would be heading to the area, theFalloutseason 2 trailer delivers something of an interestingNew Vegas updatewith the reveal of Justin Theroux taking over the role of Mr. House. Previously played by Rafi Silver in a season 1 cameo, the trailer shows the two-time Emmy winner playing the iconic character in flashback scenes with Goggins' Cooper Howard.
However, given Theroux is a bigger-name actor, it seems likely that the present-day timeline inFalloutseason 2 will also feature Mr. House. In 2010’sNew Vegastitle, House played a significant role in the Wasteland, serving as the titular city’s dictator and feuding with the violent tribe, Caesar’s legion, in an effort to control the Hoover Dam and expand eastward in the region.

One of the other major reveals to come from the trailer is Lucy and The Ghoul facing off againsta Deathclaw inFalloutseason 2. Co-creator Graham Wagner previously indicated the iconic video game enemy was being saved for after season 1, feeling it would be underserved otherwise. Though brief, the footage does tease it will get at least one major sequence.
Apart from the New Vegas recast and Deathclaw arrival,Falloutseason 2’s trailer offers a wealth of other major updates for the new season. Maximus looks to be stayingembroiled with the Brotherhood, even amidst a mission going wrong, while Cooper can also be seen in a Power Suit, indicating more developments in the show’s flashbacks, and Vault 31 can be seen under attack by Radroaches.
Our Take On The Fallout Season 2 Trailer
Given how important of a setting it is in the game, all eyes are on howFalloutseason 2 depicts New Vegas, and the trailer gives me even more confidence in how it’s coming together. While I would have been open to seeing Silver continue as the character, I think Theroux has a wonderful gravitas that, just based on the trailer, makes him an excellently malicious Mr. House.
As for the rest of the season, theFalloutseason 2 trailer points to the creative team pulling the right lessons from season 1. Lucy still looks to be growing in her Wasteland survivor skills and morals, while Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet are bringing in other iconic elements like the Deathclaws and Radroaches, all without forgetting the dark sense of humor at the heart of the franchise.
