The heroism and flying skills ofPoe Dameronwere on full display in theStar Warssequel trilogy of films, but both will be put to the test when Oscar Isaac’s ace pilot returns for a four-part series set before the events ofStar Wars: The Force Awakens. Before Dameron was flying life-or-death missions with the fate of the galaxy on the line, he was keeping the New Republic safe from, what else? Space pirates.

Poe Dameron, ace Resistance pilot, and his droid companion BB-8 are sent to investigate a piece of First Order tech used to decode Resistance messages. Standing between them and their objective is an infamous TIE fighter pilot. Can Poe out-fly his enemy, or will the mission go down in flames before it begins?
Poe and BB-8 are back for an all-new adventure! Celebrate the 10-year anniversary of The Force Awakens! Four issue series.
Poe Dameron’s Pilot Skills Will Be Tested in New ‘Codebreaker’ Adventure
Details on the series have been scarce, outlining a dangeorus mission sending Poe and BB-8 into a First Order facility in search of the titular First Order codebreaker. Getting in is easy enough for a character like Dameron, but escaping unscathed is a different challenge. Of course, the prequel nature of the story suggests that neither Poe Dameron nor BB-8 are in any danger of surviving. But as has proven the case withother high-profileStar Warsprequels, that doesn’t mean other significant additions to canon won’t be made.
Considering thatHosnian Prime, the seat of the New Republicin the prequel trilogy timeline, was only seen for moments prior to its destruction by Starkiller Base, fans will be excited at the possibility of any exploration of the planet, its power structures, and any related intrigue. The added presence of pirates only sweetens the deal, teasing that Poe Dameron may have found his equal in one mysery TIE Fighter pilot. With more questions than answers, the new Dark Horse adventure can’t begin soon enough.
Star Wars Hyperspace Stories: Codebreaker#1will be available on April 23, from Dark Horse Comics.
