Canceled NBC proceduralFoundhas received anunexpected update just two months after it was officially axed by the network. The show, created byAll American’s Nkechi Okoro Carroll, follows Gabi Mosely, a PR specialist and crisis manager, and her team, as they search for missing persons overlooked by the media and law enforcement.
The show boasted a strong cast, high-concept idea, and fresh, unique stories, anddebuted to strong viewership across the network, as well as on streaming platform Peacock. However, after a second season renewal, the show was canceled following theFoundseason 2 ending, leaving several plot points that needed to be concluded.
Unfortunately, perTV Line, it doesn’t seem like fans will get closure on the series, asit was revealed by Matt Webb Mitovich that no new home has been successfully found for the series, and that “the shopping process is over.” This pretty much rules out the chances of aFoundseason 3 continuation any time soon.

Things Aren’t Looking Great
SinceFound’s cancelationthe show is effectively dead in the water, but from Mitovich’s comments, it seems thatattempts were made to shop the show around to other networks. This has happened with shows in the past, to varying degrees of success, and in this case there was no luck in finding a platform to continue the show.
At this stage, it seems pretty definitive that the show has been axed for good, and will not be coming back. This is going to be disappointing for a lot of fans, particularly given the fact that there were several cliffhangers that will now not get to be addressed or wrapped up inFoundseason 3, which leaves a dissatisfying conclusion.

Whileit doesn’t seem likely thatFoundwill be returning any time soon, it is hard to definitively rule out a future revival. Bringing back older shows is becoming commonplace now, but whileFoundhas the momentum of a fresher show, it might find a home on streaming, but the chances are low.
Shows getting a stay of execution on other platforms have happened before, withNetflix famously reviving Arrested Developmentafter its cancelation. Something similar could happen here, but the chances are that ifFounddoes return, it will be a while into the future, and it might take a totally different narrative direction.
