It’s important for good TV to have a villain that we can love to hate.Docdid that in the first season quickly, establishing Richard (Scott Wolf) as the man to watch out for. However, things have changed with the wayDocseason 1 ended.

Docseason 2now has an exciting chance to change who the villain of the story is.Creating an unexpected villain is one of the great ways a TV show can keep us on our feet, and that’s certainly something theDocseason 1 finalehas set up. The question for many is whether the Fox show will have the guts to do this.

After all, the best villain is going to be one of the most polarizing decisions for the series. However, it also sets up astory where the villain can be redeemable under the right circumstances. It just takes away a character we have come to connect with for a while.

Doc Season 1 Finale Ends With Some Questionable Choices For Amy

Amy Larsen Will Likely Feel Invincible

TheDocseason 1 finale ended the way many of us expected. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker) managed to expose Richard for who he was. Despite losing her memory, she realized that there was still an issue, especially as she gained access to her emails.

It wasn’t that surprising to see her figure it all out and prove he was the villain in the end. By doing that, she’s likely feeling invincible, as she’s managed all of this without all of her memories. She had this proof all along, andit creates a dangerous perspective.

While executive producers Hank Steinberg and Barbie Kligman made it clear that it’s not the last we’ve seen of Richard (viaDeadline),Docseason 2 will need to see a slight change. There has to be a new villain, and Amy is slowly becoming that possibility.

Here’s what I’ll say. We love Scott and we love the way he’s played Richard. So I don’t think this is the last we’ll be seeing of him. But I’m not giving you more.

Outside of work, she is becoming the mistress in the relationship with her ex-husband. She’s willing to act on old feelings, threatening to break up a family for the sake of her own happiness. The more she gives in to these feelings, the more she may be willing to hurt people elsewhere in her life.

Amy Can Gradually Regain Her Stern Personality In Doc Season 2

Amy Wasn’t A People Person At The Start

The beginning ofDocmade it clear that Amy wasn’t a person to initially like. She was stern in her work, andshe’d pulled away from the majority of people in her life due to grief. The only person who got to see a sense of humanity in her was Jake (Jon-Michael Ecker), but that changed with her accident.

With the loss of her memories of her grief, Amy reverted back to the woman she used to be,humanizing the character and offering us someone we could connect to and root for. That’s starting to change even without the memories of her deceased son, and she is showing signs of the behavior from the beginning of the series.

This opens the door forDocseason 2 to change the main protagonist into the antagonist, who is redeemable with the right actions. It would be a dangerous thing for the series to do, but it is also exciting and different compared to many other shows, making for an intriguing season to watch.
