It goes without saying that George Lucas is an absolute legend, but eversince Disney boughtStar Wars, it’s seemed rarer and rarer to see Lucas involved in events linked toStar Wars. That makes it even more special (and exciting) to learn that Lucas will be participating in San Diego Comic Con.
The fact that his appearance at SDCC will take the form of a panel only makes this even more thrilling, as we will no doubt be getting to hear plenty Warsmovies and TV showsfrom the creator himself—particularly regarding the animated shows, it seems.

It’s felt as thoughStar Wars’live-action shows have been dominating the franchise a bit of late (which has been wonderful as well, given shows likeAndorhave proven absolutely brilliant).
The animated shows also deserve plenty of attention, though, especially because of how much influence they’ve had ontheStar Warstimeline. Shows likeThe Clone Wars,Star Wars: The Bad Batch, andStar Wars Rebelshave been defining installments in the franchise, as just some examples, and they’ve brought about some of the verybest characters inStar Wars.
Knowing that this panel will focus on how powerful such animated stories can be, I will certainly be eager to hear what George Lucas and these other movie industry legends have to say.
