Gi-hun has already experiencedevery horrible scenario or gamethat the Front Man could put him through, so it is no surprise that he would want to avoid continuing his time in the arena. At this point, there isno way that the Front Man can allow him to leave with his life. Forcing him to continue playing is nothing but a punishment, and it is unlikely to last more than a week. Having just witnessed the death of his friend, Gi-hun knows that his own end is coming soon, which is why he wants to die quickly.
With one season left, Gi-hun has seemingly lost his chance to defeat the Front Man, which means thatthe games will continue indefinitely. His rebellion failed, countless more people will die, and the wealthy will continue to profit from their suffering. Gi-hun is facing extreme guilt, which is one of the reasons that he is looking for a chance to be killed by the guards.
