The very first game Sony showed during its PS5 games showcase event was none other than Rockstar’sGrand Theft Auto 5.Grand Theft Auto 5is the most profitable entertainment product of all time, and so it’s not all that surprising that Rockstar is bringing it over to the next-generation consoles. And as it so happens,Grand Theft Auto 5’s transition to next-gen consoles will apparently include a big enhancement for the Grand Theft Auto Online multiplayer mode.
Various retailers have started postingGrand Theft Auto 5PS5 pre-order pages online, potentially leaking some information about the game. According to the listings, theGrand Theft Auto 5PS5 portwill retail at full price, but it will also be upping the number of players in Grand Theft Auto Online. If the retail leaks are to be believed, then Grand Theft Auto Online will support up to 64 players in a single game on PS5 and Xbox Series X, which is double what is currently available.

Of course, it’s possible that the retail listings forGrand Theft Auto 5are incorrect, and so fans should keep that in mind. At this point, there is very little we know aboutRockstar’s plans forGrand Theft Auto 5when it comes to the next-gen release.
Rockstar’s decision to bring GTA Online andGrand Theft Auto 5to next-gen consoles has gotten a mixed reception so far. Many fans have expressed disappointment that Rockstar has yet to reveal its next new release, as it’s been nearly two years sinceRed Dead Redemption 2launched. Rumors have pointed toRockstar’s next gamebeingGrand Theft Auto 6or even aBullysequel, but until Rockstar itself decides to share more information, all fans can do is speculate.
