Indie crafting and survival gameNightingalehas been met with a warm reception since its release, much of which will be attributed to its stunning Victorian influence and expansive, open worlds to explore. The game empowers players to collect resources, build and craft items, and battle the many threats they will encounter in the Faewilds.

One particular feature that enhances how user-friendlyNightingaleis stems from the ability for players to dictate how challenging their Realmwalking experience is. So, whether you’re someone who enjoys cozier crafting titles or prefers to test your skills in a challenging fight for survival, it is up to you to determine how the game plays out. In order to do this, players will need to be aware ofhow to change the Realm difficulty inNightingale.

How to Change Difficulty In Nightingale

Players will be able to change the difficulty of the Realm they are in by simplyvisiting any Portals in the area. It is near these Portals that you can adjust this setting, which merely requires that you interact with theRealm Card Machine, where you would usually input your Realm cards to be transported to another biome. This can be done with either an existing Portal that is marked on your map, or you can build your own, starting with aCrude Realm Portal. In the bottom-left corner of the Realm Card Machine’s menu, you will see an option for difficulty.

From there, it is a simple matter of determining whether you would like to make yourNightingaleexperience easier or more challenging. In the bottom-left corner you will see your current difficulty level, which is Medium by default, accompanied by a drop-down menu with alternative options. There are four difficulty levels to choose from;

These can be adjusted at anytime from the Realm Card Machine, so if you’re finding the changes you make to swing too far in one direction or another, you can simply come back and try it again. Alternatively, if you are finding that you can’t strike a balance between one difficulty level and another, you can level the playing field against your adversaries by upgrading your weapons and continuing toincrease your Gear scorebefore moving up to the next level of challenge. After all, having stronger armor and more effective weaponry will make your Realmwalker a far more formidable opponent in combat and better-equipped to deal with the harsh survival challenges inNightingale.
