One of the most promising remakes in a long time has to beMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. From the trailers, it looks to be incredibly faithful while updating the visuals, controls, and modes. It’sthe most anticipated game of 2025for some people, and it’s easy to see why, because it’s a rare breed of a remake. Not many remakes have the same voice performance while updating the graphics to modern standards.

The game iscoming out on August 28, but there’s one thing at the back of my mind that I’m wondering about. About halfway into the title, there’s a really cool Easter egg that even hardcore fans might not know about, and it relates to another Konami franchise,Silent Hill. It’s a sneaky Easter egg that’s hard to spot, but I hope it’s included in the remake.

One Of The Best Snake Eater Easter Eggs Has A Connection To Silent Hill

The Sirens Are Coming

Midway intoSnake Eater, you’ll have to enter the Graniny Gorki building to talk to Aleksandr Granin. You can find him in the basement, but on the second floor, you can find a library room. Inside this room, you’ll discover strange paintings that don’t appear anywhere else in the game. They look very odd, with their religious nature, and seem out of place. That’s because they are,as these paintings are plucked straight fromSilent Hill 3.

These paintings are only found inSilent Hill 3’sChurch, not inSilent Hill 1.

These paintings can be found near the end ofSilent Hill 3in the Church area. The painting of a woman holding a baby is that of Alessa, which can be found in the most iconic save room inSH3, the belfry. The rest of the paintings inSnake Eaterare located at the altar, which houses six placed on the sides of the room. These are actuallyvital pieces of lore to understandingSilent Hill’scult. However, it’s odd that they were included inMGS3at all.

Silent Hill 3was released one year beforeSnake Eaterin 2003, so perhaps Konami did a simple asset reuse that they thought nobody would notice. The paintings are very low-res compared to theSilent Hillcounterparts, but people did notice, especially when theHD Collectionversions were released.

This Easter Egg Has To Be Brought Back In Metal Gear Solid Delta

Everything Should Be Faithful

With what we know so far aboutMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, it appears that virtually everything is coming back in this remake, plus more. Even thecontroversial Peep Demo Theater is making a return. With all this content being retained in the remake, it justfeels off if Konami doesn’t keep theSilent Hill 3Easter egg.

It’s an awesome one that many don’t even know about, partially because you have to be really familiar withSilent Hillto recognize these low-res paintings. Bloober Team is currently remakingSilent Hill 1, butit’s likely anSH3remake will follow in the future, as it’s a direct sequel to the first installment. These recreated paintings would be a nice way to get a glimpse at a potentialSH3remake.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s Latest Trailer Shows Its Committed To Its Roots

Konami Seems To Be Going The Right Path

At the June 12 Konami Press Start event, the latest trailer, or rather, showcase forMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, was revealed. It looks even better, with returning features that many fans had been asking for,as well as some they hadn’t. WhileMetal Gear Onlineisn’t returning, there is something in its place, and that’s Fox Hunt mode. It’s an online multiplayer mode unique to the series and looks very promising.

The secret theater that was absent in theHD Collectionversions is returning, too. It’ll have the same scenes as before, plus new scenes made forDelta. Konami is putting so much effort into makingMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterthe total package for a remake, and hopefully, theSilent Hill 3hidden Easter egg will return as well, given the remarkable faithfulness of this remake.
