Ahsokaseason 2 is currently in the works, and I’m more convinced than ever that we will see one of the bestAndorcharacters appear in the show. Althoughupdates onAhsokaseason 2were among the most significantreveals at Star Wars Celebration 2025, there’s still very little we currently know about the story.

At present,Hayden Christensen’s return inAhsokaseason 2is confirmed, andtheAhsokafinalehas given some insight into what this new season could hold, including an update on Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren being trapped on Peridea andGrand Admiral Thrawn’sefforts to rebuild the Empire with himself at the helm.

Ahsoka’splace intheStar Warstimeline, during the New Republic Era, also offers some hints about what the new season may entail. In fact, it is in part this timing, along with what was shown inAndorseason 2 andAhsokaseason 1, that has me convincedwe could see an incredibleAndorcameo inAhsokaseason 2.

Andor Season 2’s Ending Revealed Vel Sartha Survived

Mon Mothma And Vel Were Together At The End Of Andor Season 2

TheAndorseason 2 endingconfirmed that Mon Mothma safely made her way to the Rebels following her impassioned speech before the Senate decrying Palpatine and the Empire in the wake ofthe Ghorman Massacre. This wasn’t all that surprising, as Mon Mothma was in the originalStar Warstrilogy, so her survival was already guaranteed.

However, this ending additionally revealed thatMon’s cousin, Vel Sartha, also survived and was by Mon’s side at the Rebel base. This was a more significant revelation, as Vel’s fate was unknown. Particularly given bothRogue One: A Star Wars StoryandAndor’swillingness to kill off major characters, it felt somewhat likely that Vel wouldn’t make it.

This is especially true because Vel hasn’t appeared in anyStar Warsmovies and TV showsoutsideAndor, so her death wouldn’t even need to be explained away. Yet, this ending confirmed that, not only is Vel still alive afterAndor’sconclusion, but also, she is perfectly positioned to remain a key figure in the Rebellion (and beyond).

We Haven’t Seen Vel Since Andor… But We’ve Seen Mon Mothma

We Know Mon Remained A Key Figure In The New Republic Era

Although Vel hasn’t appeared in any otherStar Warsmovies or shows beforeAndor, Mon has appeared in several. After her introduction in the originalStar Warstrilogy, Mon returned in the prequels (although she fell victim toStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith’sdeleted scenes, which effectively wrote her out of the movie).

Mon also played a part inAhsokaseason 1, specifically in her critical role as the first elected Chancellor of the New Republic. Because of Mon’s continued importance in the New Republic Era andAndor’sreveal that Vel and Mon remained side-by-side, I’m convinced that Vel will return inAhsokaseason 2.

This would especially make sense given Vel’s own history inStar Wars. Like her cousin, Vel was absolutely crucial in the Rebels' fight to bring down the Empire. Given she’s presumably still alive, it makes all the sense in the world for Vel’s role to continue in this new era ofStar Wars.

Ahsoka Season 2 Is The Perfect Time To Bring Back This Brilliant Character

Vel, Like Mon, Should Remain Important In This New Era

Vel’s return inStar Warsisn’t confirmed, but if she is to appear in anotherStar Warsproject (which I fully believe she should, as she was a brilliant character inAndor),Ahsokaarguably makes the most sense for Vel’s next on-screen appearance. As mentioned, Vel was crucial to the Rebel effort.

Unless she died at some point during the war, which wouldn’t make much sense in terms ofStar Warsgetting the best use out of the character, it’s safe to assume she would want to remain involved in the future, just as Mon did. While Vel wasn’t a politician like her cousin was/is, she had a role to play.

In fact, asAhsokarevealed thatthe Imperial Remnantremains a threat in this new era, Vel’s role could even be tracking down and dealing with lingering Imperial sympathizers and their plots to bring down the New Republic. This would actually be a perfect continuation of her role inAndor.

After all, Vel was considerably closer to the front lines than Mon was, and these respective roles in the New Republic Era would mirror that dynamic. AlthoughStar Warshas yet to drop any hints that this is coming, I’m convinced we could see Vel Sartha inAhsokaseason 2 after her confirmed survival inAndor.
