Agatha All Along’sWiccan may soon be back in theMarvel Cinematic Universe, as Joe Locke is potentially eying his Marvel Studios film debut. One of the big takeaways fromthe MCU timelinein 2024 was the reintroduction of Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan, as Locke brought the character back into the franchise throughAgatha All Along.
With the older Billy now established, many have been wondering when the young hero will actually show up next, especially as The Multiverse Saga gets closer to its end. However,Locke’s MCU future as Billymay have finally gotten a massive update.

During a recent TikTok live (via@DailyJLocke), Tony and Grammy award winner Steven Sater had been asked about Locke. While keeping it brief, Sater stated that Locke is doing a Marvel movie, which would mark the MCU actor’s first appearance in a Marvel Studios film. Check it out below:
I didn’t see him, I didn’t reach out. I know he’s doing a Marvel movie and he’s doing Heartstopper, so he’s been crazy, and my friends are producing the play he’s about to do on the West End, so I just know how crazy his schedule is, so I left him alone.

At the time of this story’s publication,Locke and Marvel Studios have not responded to Sater’s comments. It’s also currently unknown which MCU movie Locke’s Billy would be showing up in, at this point.
What The Comments About Joe Locke’s Return Could Mean For The MCU
If Locke is truly set to show up in an MCU movie, the only one that is currently shooting in London isAvengers: Doomsday, asSpider-Man: Brand New Dayisn’t set to start filming until August, and will be filming in Glasgow instead. Ultimately, it wouldn’t be shocking for Locke’s Wiccan to be part oftheAvengers: Doomsdaycast.
GivenAvengers: Doomsdayis the beginning of the end for The Multiverse Saga, having Billy showing up here would make perfect sense. As there are also no other remaining MCU TV shows for Phase 6 that are filming,Avengers: Doomsdaywould be the most logical MCU project for Locke to be in right now, but only time will tell if this is indeed the case.
Our Take On The MCU Joe Locke Comments
Sater’s comments do seem to suggest Wiccan’s MCU movie debut is on the near horizon, though it’s possible this was a misunderstanding. However, given thatKevin Feige confirmed that more members of theAvengers: Doomsdaycastwere as of yet to be revealed previously, it would make sense for Billy to be a part ofDoomsday.
It has always been a trend that some of the biggest MCU surprises emerge where audiences are least expecting them to, and this case may be no different, though nothing is clear yet. IfAvengers: Doomsdayis truly what Locke is shooting, it will be exciting to see how Billy fits into the massiveMCUinstallment.
