WithFreakier Fridaybecoming a critical and commercial hit right out of the gate,Lindsay Lohan’s next major comeback role withCount My Liesis moving forward in a big way. After memorably getting her first taste of success working under the Disney umbrella as a child actor with 1998’sThe Parent Trap, Lohan’s personal matters saw her pull back from acting in the 2010s.

From there, however, the star would start to see a steady resurgence in popularity with her multi-movie deal on Netflix, beginning with the modestly reviewed rom-comFalling for Christmas. WhileLohan’s subsequent titles, the dual 2024 releases ofIrish WishandOur Little Secret, didn’t spark the same reception, they were hits for the streamer.

With the show not only now having a full greenlight from the streamer, but also casting a star as big as Shailene Woodley to join her,Count My Liesmoving forward is solid proof Lohan’s comeback is only just getting started.Freakier Friday’s early successcombined with the viewership streaks of her Netflix movies were certainly the start of her renaissance.

However, the news of Hulu acquiring the Lohan-led adaptation of Sophie Stava’s thriller novel comes as something of a surprise considering the streamer is in its last lifecycle. Our Take On Hulu Acquiring Lohan’s Count My Lies

Ever since Brendan Fraser started enjoying his big comeback withThe Whaleandthe upcomingRental Family, my eyes have been peeled for who would be the next star to get a big renaissance, and I couldn’t be happier for Lohan so far. Her Netflix rom-coms may not be for me, but with them coming after years of her personal growth, it’s great to see her so creatively energized.

Even more so is that I’m quite intrigued by Lohan and Woodley teaming up forCount My Lies. The plot, in which Woodley stars as a compulsive liar who begins working as a nanny for a bright family, whose matriarch is Lohan, sounds like a great way to showcase the latter’s acting range and fill the voidleft by Woodley’sBig Little Lies.
