A demo ofLittle Nightmares 3is coming out soon, but you likely won’t be able to play it. The third game in thepopular indie horror series,Little Nightmares 3was first announced at Gamescom way back in 2023. It aimsto evolve the seriesby introducing co-op multiplayer, a feature that’s never before been implemented in the games despite their traditional dual player characters. It’s also the first game in the series to be made by Supermassive Games (developers of theDark Pictures Anthology) after original dev Tarsier was acquired by Embracer Group in 2019.

Announced as part of the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase, which aired this afternoon, the upcoming horror sequelLittle Nightmares 3is due to get a demo later this month. However, it won’t be accessible through online game storefronts;it’ll only be playable at San Diego Comic Con. Taking place from July 24 to 27 at the San Diego Convention Center, SDCC is one of the worlds' best-attended annual conventions - but even so, it means only a limited number of players will be able to experience theLittle Nightmares 3demo that weekend.

Little Nightmares 3 Demo Is Coming To San Diego Comic Con

What To Expect & How To Play It

Little Nightmares 3will apparently be an integral part of Bandai Namco’s presenceat SDCC. It’ll be one of three playable demos of upcoming games the publisher is bringing to the event, along withDigimon Story Time StrangerandTowa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree. All will be located at booth #129 on the con’s show floor, along with a photo opportunity commemorating the upcoming release ofCode Vein 2.

Bandai Namco is also operating aLittle Nightmares-themed speakeasyelsewhere in the city of San Diego during the con. Although details about the location and nature of this additional popup are scarce, more will likely be revealed via Bandai Namco’s social media channels between now and SDCC.

It all sounds pretty cool - however, this is a little disappointing when compared to a full demo. Of course, you’ll have to attend the con to even have a chance of playing it, which already excludes most of the potential player base. Lines will likely restrict countless others from accessing the demo, while limited play times will prevent those who do get in from enjoying it to the fullest.

Our Take: Hopefully, The Demo Will Be Released Worldwide Soon

Maybe After SDCC

While any kind of update onLittle Nightmares 3is exciting, it’s a little disappointing to learn the demo won’t be publicly available. However, we can’t discount the possibility of a free demo coming to the

public soon - we’ll likely just have to wait a little longer. It’d make sense if, after a select few got to experience the game at SDCC, theLittle Nightmares 3demo got a wider release that allowed players around the world to check out the upcoming sequel. But barring any official announcement from Bandai, we’ll just have to wait for moreLittle Nightmares 3demo news.
