Magic: The Gathering Reveals Lightstall Inquisitor And Lithobraking
Screen Rant’s first exclusive preview isLightstall Inquitistor, a rare one-drop creature that could be a nice addition to Standard control decks. Forcing an opponent to exile a card hand early on can give you a quick look at the type of deck they’re playing. The additional cost of casting the exiled card later also slows your opponent down a bit. As stalling and open information are both key aspects of a control deck’s strategy, I could see Lightstall Inquisitor being included in some builds.
Lithobraking is a cheap damage-based sweeperthat utilizes thenew Lander tokens. This wipe isn’t overly powerful, but I could see it making its way into a few Standard sideboards since it can take out the majority of creatures in Dimir Midrange builds. At uncommon, Lithobraking could also be a good card to look out for in a Prerelease event or Draft. I can also see both cards working in other formats, especially Commander.
How Best To Use Edge Of Eternities' Latest Cards
Lightstall Inquisitor And Lithobraking Have Places In Several Types Of Decks
While I think Lightstall Inquisitor could work in Standard, I’m not sure if it’s a powerful enough control piece for formats like Modern or Vintage. That said, it could have a nice place in several Commander decks, especially thanks to its dual typing. Angels and Wizards both have a solid amount of synergy, and a one-drop can be nice for setting off typal support cards like Kindred Discovery.
I could see Lithobraking being a nice addition to any Commander decks built around non-combat damage. Toralf, God of Fury decks might want this, as it could be a powerful wipe when combined with damage doublers, or even just against an army of weak tokens. Osgir, the Reconstructor decks might also appreciate a way to sacrifice artifacts. In general,Edge of Eternitiesis adding some exciting new tools toMagic: The Gathering, and I’m excited to see how they impact current builds.
