With Marvel and DC Comics crossing over soon,Daredevilis about to have the story that should have been told decades ago.Deadpool/Batman #1is thefirst of two anticipated crossovers between the Big Two, and it’s going to be chock-full of additional team-ups and battles, including one that pairs the Man Without Fear with one obvious DC hero.

Marvel held much of the information about itsDeadpool/Batman #1crossover close to the chest, but the publisher has revealed all the details of what fans can expect. The special issue will see plenty of other storiesfeaturing Marvel and DC heroescolliding, including one by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert that brings Daredevil together with Green Arrow.

Smith famously wrote for both characters in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. But what’s really wild is looking back on a particular cover of the now-defunct comic book magazine,Wizard. The magazine’s 121st issue features a cover by Joe Quesada that prominently displaysGreen Arrow and Daredevil. No, over two decades later, that cover is a reality.

But finally, well over 20 years after the last time they collaborated, Marvel and DC are back in business together.

It’s wild to see a coverWizardhad made decades ago actually become a reality. But it’s not exactly surprising. Marvel and DC are pulling out all the stops for this crossover, including tapping some major names for this event. And who better to helm a Daredevil/Green Arrow crossover than someone like Smith, who has influential runs with both heroes?

Smith relished the opportunity to write Matt Murdock and Oliver Queen. It’ll be interesting to see what he has in store when the two heroes actually meet, but Smith has had a lot of time to mull it over. Whatever he’s got in store, it’s sure to be a fun read forDaredeviland Green Arrow fans.
