The King of Monsters has been given many upgrades over his long career, but nowGodzillais getting the ultimate pop culture makeover with his very ownIron Manarmor. Tony Stark is no stranger to creating gigantic Iron Man suits, but it’s questionable whether he’s ever created anything as awe-inspiring as this mechanized suit for the towering kaiju.

The suit is unveiled in Dave Wachter’s variant cover forGodzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #3. The story will see the X-Men, Hulk and Black Panther join the battle against the King of Monsters, as Godzilla continues his attack on Marvel canon. The suit uses Iron Man’s iconic gold and red and includes repulsor beams in the hands and chest, and even includes metallic teeth.

Marvel Is Making the Most of Its Godzilla Crossovers with Unique Upgrades

Yes, We Already Got a Hulk-Zilla

Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universeis a five-issue miniseries, following up Marvel’s recent slate of one-shots where its iconic heroes take on Godzilla (each in their own alternate reality.) Marvel has made the most of this historic team-up by exposing Godzilla to a variety of jaw-dropping transformations, gifting it new power sourcesincluding the Hulk’s gamma radiationand even Silver Surfer’s Power Cosmic.

This Isn’t the First Time Iron Man Went Gigantic

While Godzilla’s Iron Man suit is impressive, it’s not the first time Tony has built a towering suit. Models like Fin Fang Foom Buster and Celestial suit have achieved similar scale, while absorbing Galactus' powers turnedTony Stark into the humongous Iron God. However,it’s likely the case that Tony has never created a weapon as powerful as his own repulsor technology combined with Godzilla’s atomic breath. Fans are used to a robotic Godzilla thanks to recurring villain Mechagodzilla, but Tony Stark’s technology makes that towering mech seem redundant.

It’s been a huge treat for fans to seeGodzilla not just clashing with Marvel’s heroes, but being transformed through unique interactions with comic lore. The King of Monsters was already an unparalleled threat, but giving the kaiju his own gamma muscles and Iron Man armor has taken him to the next level. Hopefully,Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universeis as imaginative and creative as theGodzilla vs…specials, with Dave Wachter’sGodzilla/Iron Mancover giving fans reason to believe that will be the case.
