THIS IS BINARY… AND THE UNIVERSE BURNS WITH HER! X YEARS LATER, in the ashes of the old world, to survive she is reborn - a cosmic force channeling the Phoenix itself. With the universe crumbling, Binary returns to save what’s left. But power this great always comes with a price… and the end of everything might begin with her.
Age of Revelation is a new event that will jump 10 years into the future of X-Men lore, with the world now ruled by the evil mutant Revelation. In this dark near-future, Binary returns to help, but Marvel’s summary suggests that with her beyond-godlike power, she may end up ending the universe rather than saving it.

Age of Revelation Is Redefining Marvel’s Heroes
A Hero So Powerful Could Threaten Reality Itself
The upcomingAge of Revelationsees Doug Ramsey’s Revelation take over the world using his hypnotic voice, creating a false paradise for mutants. While rebel heroes like Cyclops fight back, others likeLaura Kinney’s Wolverine take Revelation’s side, with humanity suffering under his oppressive regime. Other heroes like Spider-Man and Deadpool will be dragged into the fray of this dark near-future.
The event will also reignite Captain Marvel’s longtime connection to the X-Men, similar to the iconic ‘90sAge of Apocalypseevent. In Marvel continuity,Carol Danvers uses the name ‘Binary’ when she’s channeling the energy of a white hole, effectively giving her infinite galactic power. However, the Phoenix Force is even more impressive, acting as the embodiment of creative energy in Marvel lore and surpassing even gods like Odin, with the power to rewrite reality. The current Phoenix, Jean Grey, has even been declaredMarvel’s most powerful person in existence. Combined, the two are a universal-level hero… or threat.

So far it’s unclear whether this version of Binary is Carol Danvers. While that’s likely, recent comics did introducea new version of Binaryas an energy being who separated from Carol, becoming its own entity. While this Binary seemingly died, no being with that much cosmic power is ever truly gone, and it could be this energy clone that’s returning ten years in Marvel’s future. Fans will find out asCaptain Marveland the Phoenix combine, andBinaryunleashes an all-powerful hero onX-Men’s Age of Revelation.
Binary #1is coming October 8 from Marvel Comics, following next week’s reveal ofX-Men: Age of Revelation #0.
