Suits LAhad a chance to be great, but its story ended before it ever truly began. The NBC legal drama served as the secondspinoff in theSuitsuniverse, followingPearson(which also didn’t last for very long). Evidently, none of theSuitsfranchise’s offshoots could hold a candle to the original, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have potential.

Suits LAcame about following theresurgence ofSuitsin 2023 after its first eight seasons were added to Netflix’s streaming catalog. Given its rise in popularity, NBCUniversal wanted to capitalize on the show’s recent success by reviving its universe. They brought back Aaron Korsh (Suits' creator), andSuits LAwas born. Unfortunately,NBC canceled the spinoff after only one season.

It helped thatSuits LAbrought backSuitsstarssuch as Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman. However, the offshoot’s uphill trajectory was more about its story rather than its fan service and connecting its world to the one that everyone fell in love with 14 years ago. NBC Canceling Suits LA After Just Season 1 Took Away Its Chance To Be Better

Suits LA Season 2 Could Have Been Great

NBC canceledSuits LAafter only one season, meaning it wasn’t given the opportunity to keep on improving. In the wake of the infamous betrayal at the TV show’s beginning, and once the Black family drama got resolved,Suits LA’s future looked bright.Season 2 could’ve been akin toThe Officeseason 2 and completely turned the car around.

NBC axedSuits LAbefore it could seize the opportunity to enhance and build upon its potential.

Many great series have slow starts, but unlikeSuits LA, they were granted the chance to refine their structure, which was a wise decision. For example, most agree that the firstseason ofThe Officeis among its worst.Breaking Bad, which many consider one of the best shows ever, also had a not-so-great beginning (at least, compared to its later seasons).

Unfortunately,Suits LAwasn’t given the luxury to prove itself. Now, we’ll never know how the spinoff’s second season would play out, and whether it would actually be a significant step up from season 1. NBC axedSuits LAbefore it could seize the opportunity to enhance and build upon its potential.
