In exciting news, the cast and crew ofNCISare hard at work on season 23; in worrisome news, two actors are suspiciously missing from a behind-the-scenes video. The CBS militarypolice procedural TV serieshas featured many cast changes over the years. PerhapsNCISis in store for another shakeup in season 23.
TheNCISuniverse’s Instagrampage posted a video from the cast’s first day on the set of season 23 on August 15, 2025. Katrina Law, Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Rocky Carroll, and Gary Cole were all in attendance to announce the monumental event. However,NCIShas seven cast members, not five. That begs the question —where are Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover?

What Brian Dietzen & Diona Reasonover’s Absence Mean For NCIS Season 23
CBS Hasn’t Announced Their Exits
The above video confirms thatKatrina Law as Jessica Knight, Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance, and Gary Cole as Alden Parker are all back forNCISseason 23. Since Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover are missing, though, some are worried that Dr. Jimmy Palmer and Kasie Hines are leaving the CBS series.
Despite their absence in the Instagram video, Dietzen and Reasonover will likely reprise their roles as Jimmy and Kasie inthe main cast ofNCISseason 23. Neither the network nor anyone who works on the show has indicated that Dietzen and Reasonover are departing. So,fans should still anticipate Jimmy and Kasie’s return in season 23.

The good news is that, by all accounts, Jimmy and Kasie are expected to appear in season 23.
If they don’t come back, a lot will change.Jimmy first appeared in season 1 and has been a key figure in the seriesfor many years now. Meanwhile, Kasie was introduced in season 15 and also plays a significant role inNCIS’s structure. The good news is that, by all accounts, Jimmy and Kasie are expected to appear in season 23.
Our Take On NCIS’s Missing 2 Cast Members
Jimmy & Kasie Are Likely Still Coming Back For Season 23
In spite of them missing fromNCIS’s behind-the-scenes video from the set of season 23, Dietzen and Reasonover are most likely still a part of the main cast.Maybe the two stars simply weren’t scheduled to work the daythe video was filmed. As a result, Dietzen and Reasonover weren’t around to join their costars in announcing the start of production.
Fans shouldn’t be worried about anyNCIScast exitsahead of the season 23 premiere. Of course, the door is always open for any actor to leave the CBS show down the line. For now, though, our odds are onNCISseason 23 beginning with its main cast intact.
