However, the death of Alden Parker’s father at the hands of crime boss Carla Merino sets up a strong thread heading intoNCISseason 23, and a fresh report suggests things could be underway with the new season.

Via set lighting tech, Nicholas Aiello/studio_headzon Instagram, it has been revealed thatNCISseason 23 is now officially in production. Confirmation that production is underway forNCISseason 23is exciting for audiences and will have fans hotly anticipating the direction the show will take. The CBS ratings juggernaut is showing little sign of slowing down, and even with 23 seasons down, the show still has plenty of stories to tell and character arcs to explore.

Aiello’s post does not confirm how long the shooting schedule for the show will be, but given it’s set to air in the Fall, there is plenty to plot and shoot a well-constructed season. While an episode count for the season is also unconfirmed, it seems very likely the show will hit a key milestone and pass 500 broadcast episodes.
