The new trailer showcases all three of the major fights that will be taking place in the first movie: Zenitsu vs. Kaigaku, Shinobu vs. Douma, and Tanjiro vs. Akaza. By far the most anticipated of these is Tanjiro vs. Akaza, as Akaza was the demon responsible for the death of Rengoku during theMugen Trainfilm.
This is thus not only an epic battle with the Upper Rank 3 demon, but a revenge match where Tanjiro might finally be able to avenge his fallen friend and mentor.Given that Tanjiro recently received a new blade using the handguard from Rengoku’s own sword, there’s an even deeper level to the meaning to the fight between the two of them.
The other fights are equally personal; Shinobu’s sister, the former Flower Hashira Kanae Kocho, was killed by Douma, giving her a reason to be seeking revenge as well. Kaigaku, a new demon being introduced inInfinity Castlefor the first time, was a former Demon Slayer himself who trained alongside Zenitsu, and its capable of using Thunder Breathing.
