New Spider-Man Cards For Magic: The Gathering Revealed
Spider-Man Variants Have Diverse Abilities
For many casualSpider-Manfans, the characters included in the newMagic: The Gatheringcards may be familiar due to their appearances in theSpider-Versefilms (not to mentionPeni Parker’s appearance inMarvel Rivals). Spider-Man Noir is difficult to block thanks to the Menace ability, andhe gives the user the ability to surveil their librarywhen their cards attack alone. The SP//dr card featuring Peni Parker and her mech features Vigilance and provides card draw opportunities.
Spider-Man 2099 can’t be cast until the fourth turn of the game, thanks to his status as a character from the future, but he makes up for it with Double Strike, Vigilance, and the ability to deal damage based on land cards that you’ve played and spells that you’ve cast.Spider-Ham has the most comical opportunities, creating Food tokens when entering play and adding counters to a wide array of animals.

New Cards Include Artwork From 1963’s Amazing Spider-Man #1
Going Back To The Start
The star of the show, however, is Peter Parker, and his alternate art is the coolest inclusion. The Peter Parker card brings a Spider creature token into play with him and can be transformed as a sorcery, flipping him to be the Amazing Spider-Man instead. His standard art shows his Spider-Sense tingling as he works with chemicals, while the alternate features the Kirby and Ditko cover on the Spider-Man side and Ditko’s art of Peter getting bitten by the radioactive spider on the Peter side.
Even if you don’t playMagic: The Gathering, this could be a cool collectible forSpider-Manfans in general. DedicatedMTGplayers will likely remain more divided about how well the newUniverses Beyondset fits the brand, but regardless, the future ofMagic: The Gatheringlooks like it’s focused on crossovers. As long as you’re open to them, this is one to pay attention to.
