What We Know About Pokémon TCG Pocket’s A3 Set So Far

Set Will Feature Legendary Pokemon Solgaleo And Lunala

Details about the new set are relatively scarce, although we do know some of the new cards that will appear in the new set. In addition to Solgaleo ex, Lunala ex, and Alolan Raichu ex, the set will also feature a powerful new Item card that could have a massive impact onPokémon TCG Pocket.

The new Rare Candy card allows players to evolve a Basic Pokémon straight into a Stage 2 Pokémon, provided the Basic Pokémon card wasn’t put into play on that turn. This could make cards like Solgaleo ex and Lunala ex a lot more viable in gameplay as players can potentially skip an evolutionary step to get them into play faster.

We know that, as a full set,Celestial Guardianswill have a card list of similar size toSpace-Time Smackdown. No new gimmicks for the set have been revealed yet, although one possibility is that the Ultra Beasts (powerful Pokémon that originally came from another dimension) will receive some kind of focus either in this set or asubset likeTriumphant Light. Thenew set will contain over 200 cardsand will have two distinct booster packs, one featuring Lunala and the other featuring Solgaleo.

Our Take: A Fun Spotlight On An Unheralded Pokémon Game

It’s Pokémon Sun And Moon’s Time To Shine

Pokémon SunandMoon(and its follow-upsPokémon Ultra SunandPokémon Ultra Moon) were great Pokémon games that were bogged down by the Nintendo 3DS’s limited capabilities. With a rich and vibrant setting, amazing Pokémon designs, and fantastic characters, the games were a great capstone to the 3DS era of Pokémon games.Personally, I’m stoked to see the games get a spotlight inPokémon TCG Pocketand I can’t wait to see what wild new decks come out of the new game.
