One Piece Episodes 1123-1124 In Review
A lot was riding onOne Piece’s long-awaited return, and overall, it succeeded on every front. Not only is the story as great as ever, but the animation continues to be on point at every turn, with every scene filled with creative and all-around gorgeous visuals that were faithful to the manga while still adding even more life to it all.One Piece’s anime continues to be one of the best anime to watch, and it proves that the hiatus was all for the best.
Much of that can be owed toOne Piece’s new series director, Wataru Matsumi. While acclaimed director Tatsuya Nagamine is no longer running the show, Matsumi is plenty experienced in his own right, most notably directing Shanks’ one-sided defeat of the Kid Pirates, and sure enough, the great quality ofOne Pieceepisodes #1123 and #1124 proves that Wataru Matsumi was the perfect person to succeed Tatsuya Nagamine as series director. One Piece’s return has made it one of themost hotly-anticipated anime of 2025, and fortunately, it continues to live up to that hype with episode #1125.

What Happened In One Piece Episode 1125?
Produced by Toei Animation; Directed By Yasushi Tomoda
One Pieceepisode #1125, “A Clash of Two Men’s Determination! Kizaru and Sentomaru”, continued whereOne Pieceepisodes #1123-#1124left off with the Marines beginning their assault on Egghead and Sentomaru fighting Kizaru. Sentomaru put up a surprisingly good fight against Kizaru, and it was also made clear that Kizaru was visibly distraught over having to fight Sentomaru since he and Vegapunk had essentially raised him from childhood. Nevertheless, Kizaru still forced himself to defeat Sentomaru, and from there,Kizaru took Sentomaru’s command key for the Pacifistas and ordered them to fight for the Marines instead of against them.
As Kizaru made his way to the Frontier Dome, Vegapunk, Atlas, and Edison finally cracked York’s passcode, so they were finally free to make their escape from Egghead. Unfortunately, Lucci chose right then to break his ceasefire with the Straw Hats and attacked Vegapunk, with Stussy taking a major hit to defend him. Sanji retaliated by trapping Kaku in a bubble that mimics the effects of the ocean, and at the same time,Zoro started fighting Lucci to buy everyone else time to escape.

Back with Kizaru, he had finally made his way to the Frontier Dome and was about to go after Vegapunk when he saw the Vegaforce-01 carrying the Thousand Sunny. Assuming the Straw Hats were there, Kizaru put killing Vegapunk on hold and went to take care of them, and before he even had a chance to get a word in,Luffy intercepted Kizaru with a powerful attack and boldly claimed that he and his friends were 100 times stronger than they were two years ago.
One Piece Is About To Pay Off A Rematch Over A Decade In The Making
Why Luffy Vs. Kizaru Will Be One Piece’s Best Fight
The most obvious takeaway from episode #1125 is that it sets up a fight between Luffy and Kizaru, and that’s something everyone should be looking forward to. It was over a decade ago that Kizaru singlehandedly destroyed the Straw Hats at Sabaody Archipelago and played a part in separating them for two years, something brought up multiple times in the episode, so with Luffy about to fight Kizaru,One Pieceis on the verge of paying off one of Luffy’s biggest humiliations in the entire story.
The incoming fight between Luffy and Kizaru will be great from a narrative perspective, and there’s plenty of reason to believe it will have the visuals to match. Promotional material for Egghead’s return from hiatus have put heavy focus on Luffy and Kizaru’s fight, and with how greatOne Piece’s animation has been,Luffy and Kizaru’s fight is being set up to be one ofOne Piece’s most visually appealing fights of all time. It’s one of themost hyped-up moments in the Egghead arc, by far, and it will be great to see how it plays out.

One Piece’s Latest Outing Succeeds Both Visually And Narratively
Why One Piece Episode 1125 Is So Good
WhileOne Pieceepisode #1125 was mostly a transitional episode, it was still great from start to finish. Visually speaking, the episode was another one with consistent artwork and gorgeous animation, with Sentomaru and Kizaru’s fight and Luffy confronting Kizaru being standout examples, and the preview for episode #1126 suggests that even better content is on the way. Nowadays, it’s rare for an episode ofOne Piecenot to look good, but even so,One Pieceepisode #1125’s stunning visuals made it a great episode to watch from start to finish.
The narrative stakes of the episode also made it great to watch. While the longstanding friendship between Kizaru, Vegapunk, and Sentomaru was established in previous episodes, episode #1125 was the first episode to fully explore it, and in addition to making it surprisingly heartwarming,One Pieceepisode #1125 does a great job of how torn up Vegapunk, Sentomaru, and even Kizaru are about having to fight each other. The best episodes ofOne Pieceare always the ones with a human element to them, and hopefully, episode #1126 will find a way to keep that going.

Be sure to watchOne Pieceepisode #1126 when it releases on Sunday, April 20.
