Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, the secondPathfindertitle from developer Owlcat Games, has announced its official release date. In addition to locking in the launch of the full version of the game, a second beta is also available starting today.

ThePathfindervideo games are based off of the tabletop role-playing game of the same name, which itself is a modified extension based off ofDungeons and Dragons.First published in 2009,the series received an updated sourcebooklast summer, which brought Catfolk back into the core game as opposed to a supplemental add-on.

The release date forPathfinder: Wrath of the Righteousis September 2, and will launch on PC via Steam and GOG. However, players looking to try out the game can do so with the title’s robust second beta. Including all of the content from the first beta, the new one covers the game’s first four chapters. Additionally, the second beta introduces a variety of new features including Crusade gameplay. Crusade involves tactical turn-based combat where players will lead armies as a Crusade commander and “fight against demonic armies through strategic army management.” The new beta also adds new side quests, weather systems, abilities and archetypes for specific classes, and more.

Serving as a new entry in thePathfindergame universe disconnected from 2018’sPathfinder: Kingmaker, the title promises to build on the strengths of the first title that made it so popular. WhilePathfinder: Wrath of the Righteouswas first announcedin late 2019 to be funded via Kickstarter, the title’s relatively quick turnaround time indicates a dedicated fanbase willing to put their money towards more adventures in thePathfinderuniverse.
