Elio Is Now Available On Digital After A Disappointing Box Office Performance
The Pixar movie in question isElio.Elio’s movie reviewswere overly positive, claiming it to be a heartwarming, visually dazzling adventure as per Pixar’s expected standards. Despite that,Eliodid not do well at the box office, earning only $151 million worldwide against a budget that reportedly caps out at $200 million.
This makesEliothe second-lowest-growing Pixar movie of all time, beating only 2020’sOnward,which was released during the COVID-19 pandemic. This marks a new commercial low for Pixar, regardless of how the film was received by audiences and critics.
As of July 29, 2025, though,Eliocan be streamed on digital sales platforms like Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. On these platforms,Eliocan be bought for $29.99 or rented for $24.99. This will allow families to catch up on the latest Pixar adventure, after so many failed to catch it in theaters.
Hopefully,Eliocan find a second wind on digital. The box office performance of the movie was certainly underwhelming, failing even to outrank lesser-reviewed movies likeLightyear, The Good Dinosaur,and 2023’sElemental. The latter was also considered an initial box office flop before having longer legs commercially than industry professionals thought it would have.
Sadly, the same cannot be said forElio.That being said, a lot of films from 2025 have found success on digital platforms, be theySuperman,Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, orHow to Train Your Dragon.
