The new sale on independent titles, aptly called the PlayStation Indies Sale, compounds with the already ongoingDays of Play Sale. The PlayStation Indies sale offers players deals on a wide variety of indie titles, with several being particularly appealing standouts. The previously mentionedDisco Elysium - The Final Cutlaunched on Sony consoles just a few months ago, on sale for the first time from $40 down to $28. The enduringly popular horror FPSHunt: Showdownis at quite the deep discount for $18, over half off its usual price tag.Castlevania’s spiritual successorBloodstained: Ritual of the Nightis only $20 during the sale as well. The popular Metroidvania’s developers ArtPlay and 505 Games just confirmed today that aBloodstained: Ritual of the Nightsequel is in the works.
PlayStation’s combined sales on both triple-A and indie titles offer an incredibly vast selection. However, it isn’t the only big video game sale going on right now. The Epic Games Store iscurrently holding its Epic Mega Sale, which offers up to 70 percent off some of the biggest titles available on PC.
New releases like Square Enix’s looter-shooterOutridersare marked 25 percent off, even though it released just two months ago. One advantage the Epic Games Store may have over the PlayStation sale is in bundling, asAssassin’s Creed Valhallais bundled withImmortals Fenyx RisingorWatch Dogs Legionfor only $64.89. However, it’ll ultimately come down to a prospective customer’s gaming platform preference.
Sony seems to be on a hot streak of sales so far this year. In addition to things like the Golden Week Sale, the PlayStation Store just wrapped up itsretro and remaster sale, which offered low prices for classics likeMediEvil, Shadow of the Colossus, and theDevil May Cry: HDCollection. While the deals for the now-over sale encompassed over 200 games, the online storefront has well over five times the amount of options, making right now almost certainly the biggest and best sale the PlayStation Store has had this year.
