Pokémon GO’s Dark Skies event is here, as the latest weekly event focuses on lots of Max Battle opportunities.Running from Monday, August 18, to Saturday August 23, Dark Skies is part of the GO Fest Max Finale build up, but is set to offer players a host of rewards for taking part. This follows on from the mainPokémon GOFest 2025which took place over the summer.

The main portion of the event sees endless Max Battles for trainers to take part in, but also sees new Pokémon spawns and bonuses across the week. There is a new Pokémon debut for Global players, and it is also a crucial event for those looking to catch every Dynamax Pokémon.

A Debuting Global Pokémon

As always with the weekly events inPokémon GO, there are a host of features for players that log into the game. Going along with the theme of Max Battles, there will bemore active Power Spots than usualand they will refresh every day.The daily Max Particle collection limit will be increased to 1,600withremote raid pass limits also being increased to 30.

Thebiggest feature of the event, though, isthe global debut of Eternatus, who has previously only appeared at local in-person events. When you first log intoPokémon GOduring the event, you will receive a GO Pass: Max Finale, with one of the rewards including an encounter with Eternatus.

Two Galar Legends Return

While the event focuses on Dynamax Battles at Power Spots, there is also a change of raids with some rare Pokémon to find. Additionally, appearing in1-star raids will be Sinistea.3-star raids will also be updated to includeGalarian Farfetch’d and Galarian Weezing.Dark Skies comes ahead of what has been described as thebiggest event inPokémon GO’shistorynext week for the Max Finale.

A number of the Pokémon appearing in raids also have the potential to appear in their shiny forms.

Two Legendary Pokémon from Galar will be appearing during the event as the 5-star raids.Zacian and Zamazenta are both available across the weekon different dates. The pair can both be found from August 18th-20th, with Zacian also available on August 21st and Zamazenta on August 22nd.

Over 30 Different Dynamax Pokémon On Offer

The biggest reason to play the Dark Skies event inPokémon GOis for the updated Max Battles, which will switch between three different sets of Pokémon across the event. Each set of Pokémon includes some Legendary offerings, which have only appeared in their Dynamax forms once.

The event sees a number of Dynamax Pokémon return, with various levels of difficulty to be able to catch them all.

On Monday, August 18, the Pokémon at Power Spots will be Squirtle, Caterpie, Gastly, Krabby, Shuckle, Sableye, Beldum,Latias, Latios,Trubbish, Sobble and Hatenna. All of these also have the potential to be found in their shiny forms except for Hatenna.

On Tuesday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 20, the Dynamax Pokémon appearing at Max Battles will be updated to include the three Legendary Generation One birds,previously available in the Legendary Flight event. The full list for the two days are Charmander, Omanyte, Kabuto,Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres,Pidove. Drilbur, Cryogonal, Scorbunny, Rookidee and Toxtricity.

Finally, it will change again for Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 with Bulbasaur, Machop, Chansey,Raikou, Entei, Suicine,Wailmer, Darumaka, Passimian, Grookey, Skwovet, Wooloo and Falinks all in Max Battles. The Dark Skies event inPokémon GOoffers a number of Dynamax Pokémon to catch if you haven’t already found them, as well as a unique debut.
