Pokémon GOis set to be taken over once again in August with the Delightful Days: Taken Over event. The event runs once per in-game season and focuses on Team GO Rocket. It will take place fromAugust 11 at 10am local time until August 17 at 8pm local time.
The latest event is part of thecurrent Delightful Days seasoninPokémonGO. As per previous events, it is set to bring updated line-ups for several key Rocket members, such asGO Rocket Boss Giovanni, but the exact teams have yet to be confirmed. The Taken Over event introduces changes to raid battles, along with bonuses for players.

8 New Raids To Tackle
The biggest change for the Delightful Days: Taken Over event sees additional Pokémon added to Shadow Raids. In one-star raids,Bellsprout,Aipom,Teddiursa,andSeedotare all available to take on in their Shadow forms.
Three-star raids have also been updated with three further Shadow Pokémon, which solo players can take on if you use the right counters.Girafarig,Abso,landWhirlipedehave all been added.
The biggest reason to play the event, though, is the debut ofShadowKyogre. The Gen 3 Legendary will be available to find in the most brutal 5-star raids.ShinySalanditalso makes its debut in the game and can be found in 12km eggs.

On top of the change in raids, there are a number of bonuses all players will be able to take advantage of simply from playingPokémon GOduring the event. Team GO Rocket will appear throughout the event more frequently at PokeStops and in Rocket Balloons, which should make it easier to hunt them down.

From the start of the Taken Over event, Special Research will become available.During the chain of research, you will get the opportunity to catch Shadow Giratina, but this will require beating allthe leaders, including Cliff.
