Pokemon GOplayers who have stuck with the mobile AR game over the years have seen some amazing features added to the game as developers listened to feedback and slowly mademinor and major improvements in a lengthy series of updates. The game is still evolving and some new hints suggest that another long-awaited improvement is on the way.
Trainers who want to assemble the most powerful rosters forthe PvE and PvP metagameoften have to improve a Pokemon’s moveset. This is a staple of the Pokemon franchise, but it’s a bit more of a roll of the dice inPokemon GOthan in the other games. TMs are precious resources and relying on luck to get the move needed is really not a great user experience.

Currently, players can use a TM and the game will assign the Pokemon one of the other moves (of the same Fast or Charge category) available from its pool. So far, there has not been a way to specifically pick an exact move for the TM to assign. New code datamined by some fans suggests that is about to change with the introduction of Elite TMs.
Keep in mind that all datamined code is subject to change and this is not an item or feature that Niantic as officially confirmed at this point. That said, if the code is to be believed Elite TMs will allow users to pick an exact move for their Pokemon. The code doesn’t reveal how the item is obtained, so there is the chance that it will be limited to a special event reward or, even worse, put behind a pay wall of microtransactions.
