Pokemon GOplayers have a ton of rewards to take advantage of in the next few weeks, thanks to the Ultra Bonus event. In addition to trying tohatch regionals from 7km eggs, players also have a new rotation of Battle Raid bosses to take down.
Like every part ofthe Ultra Bonus reward, the new Battle Raid bosses are Gen 1-focused and offer players yet another opportunity to stock up on Gen 1 creatures and their candy. Niantic definitely wants to helpPokemon GOplayers finish off that Kanto dex during this event and taking down these Raid Bosses is yet another way to help achieve that goal for some players.

Although many dedicated players have already secured all of these Pokemon and any of their available evolutions, it is still a strong list of bosses with a decent amount ofvalue in the metagame. Players can always use a stronger Golem if they don’t already have a full battle party with 90+% IVs and the same goes for Machamp and a few others on this list.
Players who have already completed the Gen 1 dex may find this event a little boring, but keep in mind that it is likely setting the groundwork forthe release of Gen 4. A popular theory is that Gen 1 Pokemon will decrease in sightings once Gen 4 arrives, to help make room for the new creatures. Time will tell if that ends up proving true, but just in case, it’s probably best to stock up on any of your favorite Gen 1 Pokemon now.
