Glitches have been popping up inPokemon Scarlet and Violetsince the games were released, and this latest one puts the player in a dangerous spot during a raid.Pokemonraids were introduced to the console games withPokemon Sword and Shield, and due to the popularity of the games, the feature has been retained withPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

A Reddit user has shared a clip of their adventures throughPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea that highlights a strange raid glitch that could endanger thePokemontrainer. Among the other glitches spotted inPokemon Scarlet and Violetsince they launched in November are ones thatturn thePokemontrainer into a giant monster, cause a Kingambit to spin wildly out of control, and provide access to hidden areas behind the map. While this raid bug is among several others that have already been discovered, there may still be plenty inPokemon Scarlet and Violetthat remain to be seen.

Reddit user XxXx_Goose_xXxX has garnered over 300 upvotes on a video that shows them swapping Pokemon in their party ahead of the beginning of aPokemon Scarlet and Violetraid battle. The clip shows the player rapidly opening and closing the menu two times, with a level 100 Umbreon quickly selected from a storage box rather than having a level 86 Lucario summoned upon the initiation of battle. With the Umbreon having nearly perfect stats in defense, special defense, and HP, XxXx_Goose_xXxX likely expected it to withstand powerful attacks from the Glaceon in the raid den, but something strange happens instead.

Rather than thePokemon Scarlet and Violetraid battle starting as it usually would, XxXx_Goose_xXxX’s clip shows thePokemontrainer taking the place of thePokemon Glaceonwhich has them facing the team of competing trainers on the opposite side. The game continues to react to the situation uniquely, with the camera immediately focusing on thePokemontrainer’s face as it would in a normal raid battle. Although thePokemon Scarlet and Violetclip concludes before the player selects any attacks, the raid battle still resembles a standard arena with the spectrum of colors shining on the ground and three ominous Glaceons looming in the background.

Because Nintendo has revealed thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill continue to be optimizedin future patches, it’s unclear if this raid glitch will persist beyond the next update. Given that the clip doesn’t show thePokemon Scarlet and Violetbattle, it’s likely that the player returned to the appropriate side of the conflict once the game got beyond this brief hiccup captured on video.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare available now for Nintendo Switch.
