Bethesda has just finished up with itsQuakeCon at Home eventwhich featured panels and livestreams for some of the studio’s biggest games. Throughout the weekend, the event was also raising money for charity, which unlocked some cool perks for theQuakegames on the Bethesda Launcher when significant milestones were reached.
QuakeCon may have been in celebration of all of Bethesda’s games, includingFallout, Prey, andDoom, but one of the major features was naturally the headlining title,Quake. Thanks in part to the release of the free-to-playQuake Championsback in 2017,Quakeis still a hit with players and the new release has managed to bring the best of the signature arena battles to online platforms. The game even has a world championship league of which the Grand Finals were streamed live at QuakeCon.

To thank players for donating over $20k to charity during QuakeCon at Home, Bethesda announced thatQuake 3: Arenawould become free in the Bethesda Launcher following the event. To access the game, players will need to have logged in to the Bethesda Launcher from their account during QuakeCon. The game hasn’t been added to the site yet but is expected to be available in the coming days.
Quake 2was also announced to be free when the charity donations reached $10k and the originalQuakewas announced as a free perk for all during QuakeCon, meaning players will have access to allthree of the mainQuakegameson the Bethesda Launcher.Quakewas largely regarded to be one of the formative first-person shooter games when it was released in 1996, but has remained relevant into the modern era due to its popularity.
