Rainbow Six Mobile, the upcoming mobile adaptation of the popular competitive first-person shooterRainbow Six Siege, is doing a beta test soon. Previously, Ubisoft had already conducted a closed alpha test forRainbow Six Mobilein May. Now, the studio is looking to let more players join in the fun before the game is released to the general public.

Announced in April 2022,Rainbow Six Mobileis a free-to-play shooterthat adaptsRainbow Six Siegefor mobile devices. The game is said to be built from the ground up, while at the same time still retains much of the core gameplay that makesRainbow Six Siegea very popular choice among competitive shooter fans. Practically, this means thatRainbow Six Mobilewill carry over the “Attackers vs. Defenders” premise, as well as a roster of Operators, each with their own special abilities.

For those lucky enough to be selected, they will be able to try outRainbow Six Mobile’snew progression and Operator unlock systems, complete with a free battle pass and daily challenges, as well as a new map called the Clubhouse. According to Ubisoft, the closed beta test will have 16 Operators (including popular choices such as Ash, Sledge, and Hibana), and content from previous test phases such as the Bomb and Secure Area game modes, as well as the Bank and Border maps. Beta testers can also expect visual and gameplay improvements over the alpha build of the game.

In announcing the beta test, Ubisoft also puts out a trailer showcasing various gameplay footage ofRainbow Six Mobilein its pre-beta stage.Fans ofRainbow Six Siegeshould quickly notice many similarities that are carried over inRainbow Six Mobile, with environmental destruction being a key element to the gameplay once again. Fortifications and deployable shields are also a staple inRainbow Six Mobile, as seen in the latest trailer.

Rainbow Six Mobilejoins a growing list ofUbisoft franchises coming to mobile platforms. The jury is still out on whether the game can repeat the success ofRainbow Six Siege, especially sinceRainbow Six Mobilestill doesn’t have a release window yet. However, at least more fans will be able to experience what the game has to offer now that the beta test is out.
